Fear of Failure – The idea of failing can be paralyzing, making it feel safer to stay put rather than risk messing up.
Fear of Success – It sounds strange, but success can feel overwhelming, especially if we worry we can’t maintain it or live up to others' expectations.
Perfectionism – The need to “get it just right” can lead to procrastination or giving up before even starting.
People-Pleasing – We might worry that going after our goals could disappoint others, so we hold ourselves back to keep the peace.
Imposter Syndrome – Doubting our own abilities and feeling like we’re “not enough” can keep us from taking action.
Comfort Zone Dependency – Familiarity is cozy; change isn’t. Our brains often resist leaving what feels safe, even when staying put isn’t helping us grow.
Limiting Beliefs – Beliefs like “I’m too old,” “I’m not smart enough,” or “It’s too late for me” can hold us back from fully trying.
