In December of 2022 Tommy Hritizo was lost to the senseless act of gun violence. Unfortunately, justice takes time; two of the four defendents are still pending trial in adult court, including the shooter. Meanwhile, two of the accomplices to murder took plea deals and are serving time in juvenile court. We have all wanted to support Tommy, Shelli, Matteo and the entire family during this difficult time and here is one way you can help. Tom would like to honor Tommy by sending an abundance of letters to the judge explaining how Tommy or his family have impacted your life, including how this act of violence has affected you, your family & community. As we know gun violence has become a major problem especially among young people. Tom wants the court to know Tommy was not just another number and this is a simple way we can show our love and support Tommy’s family.
There is a court date set for Boggs (the shooter) on Feb 24th, 2025. Please take some time in the next few weeks to write a victim impact statement. This can be a few thoughts on how you know the family or how you knew Tommy, maybe a story about him, his family, or how his death has impacted you. This will not only be beneficial for the court but help the family as they continue the grieving process. Your thoughtful comments and stories will go directly to Tom who will share with those that need to hear about about the life and story of Tommy Hritzo and what an amazing young man he was Thank you for your support
