About Our Camp Program
Let's have a learning ADVENTURE this summer! Red Alder Summer Camps include high-interest field trips and other engaging activities led by caring, responsible educators that bring science, history, culture, and the arts to life!
Our 2025 camps are designed for ages 6 -12 (entering 1st - 7th grade in Fall 2025). At camp, each child is a member of one of four cohorts for ages 6-7, 7-8, 9-10, and 11-12. Cohort sizes may vary but will not exceed 12 campers and each cohort has its own professional educator. A field coordinator and/or program administrator also accompanies the cohorts to ensure everyone's health and safety and to support socio-emotional success.
In the mornings and afternoons, each cohort meets separately with its educator for circle time and all four cohorts participate together in daily field trips and related enrichment activities, as well as meals, snacks, and recreation time. (For some all-group activities, the duration, content, and teaching methodologies may be differentiated for early elementary and/or middle school participants.)
Camp hours are 9:00 am - 4:30 pm. (Check-in begins at 8:30 am and pick-up ends at 5:00 pm.)
This summer, our "basecamp" will be the Pringle Community Hall, located at 606 Church Street SE, Salem. This is where the campers will begin and end each day and where they will depart and return from their field trips in 15-passenger vans or a chartered school bus.
Tuition is $479 per child per week with a 10% discount for additional siblings registering for the same camp. To be considered for our program, please complete and submit the form below for each child. Early registration will begin on Monday, February 3, at 7:00 am for returning and 2024 waitlist campers. Registration for new campers will begin on Monday, February 10, at 7:00 am.
Registrations will be processed in the order received and confirmations or waitlist status notifications will be emailed within 48 hours of registration.
