DESCRIPTION

Increasingly, grantmakers are seeking to engage individuals with lived expertise to inform their strategies, enhance learning, and achieve more equitable results. However, funders may not always know where to begin or how to structure participatory learning processes effectively. This session will highlight strategies and tools consultants can use to guide grantmakers in fostering power sharing and meaningful community engagement. Drawing from a new guide developed by Engage R+D, we’ll explore how consultants can help foundation leaders—including executives, program officers, and evaluation staff—design and implement participatory learning and evaluation practices that advance equity and collaboration in philanthropy.
