For each of your choices above, please let us know which aspects of the category you are most interested in. Below you will find general descriptions of each category, with some examples of possible volunteer needs in each one.
The City of Dillon Downtown Development Office and the City of Dillon, SC Main Street Program work together out of the Visitor Center located at 106 S Railroad Ave. They will be referred to as our Programs for ease of understanding.
Please feel free to offer suggestions where you have skillsets that may not be listed.
Events - Our Programs currently host events monthly from usually from March to December - events may be several hours or may be all day and are usually outdoors. Our Events Schedule is listed on the Second page. If you choose Events, please check the Event Dates below and indicate which Events you are available for.
Volunteering for Events means you may be providing help setting up or breaking down the event, assisting guests with event games, providing guidance to participants or visitors, or providing light housekeeping.
Office/Admin - Our Programs have a variety of Office/Admin tasks that benefit greatly from Volunteer assistance
Volunteering for Office/Admin means you will do a variety of tasks that help us prepare for our Events and Main Street Community Outreach. Tasks may include cutting/folding/sorting flyers and brochures, preparing mailings, making phone calls, maintaining databases, greeting guests or providing light housekeeping assistance.
Social Media - Our Programs provide communication to our community through various Social Media Outlets, including Facebook, Threads, Instagram and Tiktok, SMS Updates and Newsletters
Volunteering for Social Media means you may be curating event photographs for reels, providing Live coverage of events, or bringing events or posts to our attention from the various Social Media accounts we follow. You may also be setting up Text Updates or curating resources for our Newsletters.
Photography/Videography - We keep a photographic and video record of all our events, training sessions, meetings, community outreach programs and community in general.
Volunteering for Photography/Videography means you will be assisting in collecting visual data for our Programs. This may be during Events and Meetings or out in the Community - documenting progress of Program Projects or small business updates.
Community Outreach - Outside of the above methods of maintaining Communications between our Programs and the community - we also actively strive to raise awareness, build relationships and provide services to our Community Members.
Volunteering for Community Outreach means you will help our Programs learn more about the needs and interests of our Communties. This may include helping us to partner with local groups, community leaders and other community based organizations to increase our network and help us build meaningful relationships.
