Online Submission Deadline – April 15, 2025 by 3:00 p.m.
ELIGIBILITY
Any high school senior or current college student whose parent or legal guardian is employed by a NUCA Greater Kansas City member company in good standing is eligible to apply. This includes dependents of employees of NUCA Greater Kansas City members, high school student or college student employees of NUCA Greater Kansas City members.
REQUIREMENTS AND DOCUMENTATION
- Acknowledgement Letter with 3 Signatures: applicant, parent/guardian, and high school counselor (download form here)
- SAT or ACT test score documentation, signed by counselor
- Interview- in person
- A transcript of high school grades and college through the latest period after December 31st signed by counselor
- A letter of recommendation from a member of the high school or college faculty. That letter shall include the number of students in the graduating class and the applicant's standing in the class, or current college ranking and GPA.

Any application not completed in its entirety will not be considered.
QUALIFICATIONS AND DETERMINATION
The scholarship recipients will be selected by the Scholarship Committee based on the general worthiness of the application. The NUCA GKCR Scholarship Committee will consider
- Scholastic standing
- ACT and/or SAT scores
- Extracurricular activities
- Career goals
- Past employment
- Essay
- Relevance of education and career path to our industry
- Thoroughness of the completed application.
This is a merit-based scholarship, it is not based on applicant’s needs. If selected as a finalist by the committee, you MUST attend a pre-selection, in-person interview at the NUCA GKCR office on or near April 30th (date selected by Committee). If selected as one of the scholarship recipients, you MUST attend the Scholarship Night Membership Meeting to receive your award EACH YEAR.
IF SELECTED YOU MUST MAINTAIN ELIGIBILITY
To receive semester scholarship checks you must remain enrolled in an accredited college, university, or trade school and you must maintain a minimum 2.75 GPA. You are required to send a transcript to the NUCA GKCR office not later than February 1st and June 1st of each year. You must attend the Scholarship Night Membership Meeting each year to accept your check for the next year, unless there is an emergency.
