Here are some important things you need to do before completing this form:
Eligibility: All applicants must be either a college junior or senior in fall 2025 and meet the criteria set forth below.
Amount: The Ben Danskin Scholarship is an annual (non-renewable) award with a value of $2,500 to be used within an academic year.
Deadline: The deadline for filing is July 1st.
Guidelines:
· The acceptable applicant for this scholarship must be a junior or senior as of fall 2025, and who is the dependent of an active or retired First Responder who lives and works in Monmouth County, New Jersey.
· Scholarships are intended to be used during the academic year and educational expenses such as tuition, fees, room, board, and books.
· We will decide without regard to race, age, gender, religion, political beliefs of any other factor which would constitute unfair or illegal discrimination.
· Decisions of the Ben Danskin Scholarship Committee are final in all matters.
· This application is not a replacement for the annual 200 club scholarship. All eligible applicants are encouraged to apply for both scholarships. However, if you are the selected recipient of the Ben Danskin scholarship, you will not receive an award from annual award. You can only receive one (1) award.
· A past recipient of the Ben Danskin Award is not eligible for this scholarship.
Criteria:
• All applicants must submit a completed application and all required information by the July 1st deadline.
• The applicant is a dependent child of a first-responder who resides and either worked full time and is now retired or is currently employed as a full-time first-responder employee in Monmouth County, New Jersey.
• A legal guardian must be an active member of the 200 Club of Monmouth County.
• All applicants must be either a college junior or senior fall 2025 and attending an accredited institution.

• Tell the committee why you believe you should be selected for this scholarship.
• Include information about yourself, which would provide insight into your educational and career goals and relate how past, present, and future activities make the accomplishment of goals possible.
• Financial Information: How are you financing your education? Include all amounts of grants and awards. (Example: Federal State, Community, Religious, Civic, and Foundations.)
