Queer Spiritual Collective presents a half-day ecumenical retreat,
centered on belonging, calm, and connection.
This intergenerational retreat welcomes all 2SLGBTQ+ individuals seeking solidarity and belonging beyond denominations.
At a time when 2SLGBTQ+ communities, and especially trans people, are under duress and increasingly marginalized, we are coming together to offer support. What spiritual resources of resilience are needed in these times? How can we offer one another a space and place where we feel and know we belong? How can we calm our agitated nervous systems?”
The facilitators will be:
Ha Na Park (Broad View United)
Shana Lynngood (First Unitarian Church of Victoria)
Lyndon Sayers (Lutheran Church of the Cross)
Gagan Leekha (Restorative Yoga facilitator)
gagan Leekha (she/her) is a first generation Indo-Canadian, born on the northwest coast (Haisla Territory), and has been living on Lekwungen Territory since 1998. In 1998, gagan met her first yoga asana and meditation teacher. After practicing for almost 20 years and not seeing much of herself reflected in studios or western yoga culture, Gagan began her teacher training in therapeutic and trauma-informed yoga in 2017 with a vision to share yoga where people already gather, and to help make yoga more accessible to all bodies. Gagan has facilitated yoga in transition houses, with newcomer groups and frontline workers. Her approach is gentle and emphasises choice and options to help foster safety and accessibility. Her practice is influenced by her family Sikh faith and culture, Buddhist teachings, and social justice. Gagan feels called to share spiritual practice with IBPOC communities and she is also a co-founder of Sweet Refuge, a peer-led IBPOC mindfulness meditation group and a co-facilitator of Yoga Outeach's BIPOC Core Training Program. Gagan is an alum of Spirit Rock's Dedicated Pracitioner's Program and is currently studying in the Buddhist Eco-Chaplaincy program through the Sati Centre for Buddhist Studies.
