  • About your child's baptism

  • * If your child was baptised in an Eastern Catholic Church (such as the Maronite, Melkite or Ukrainian Churches) your child would have received all of the sacraments of initiation (baptism, confirmation and communion) during their baptism liturgy. The sacrament of confirmation cannot be repeated. Your child is welcome to be part of the program, but they will receive a blessing instead of Confirmation.

  • If your child was not baptised in the Partnered Parishes of Our Lady of Lourdes Armadale and St Peter's Toorak, a copy of their Baptism certificate (or an Extract of Baptism Register) will be needed. Please upload a photo or scan of the original certificate below. The Catholic Church recognises as valid baptisms that have been celebrated with pouring or immersion in water, while a minister recites the words of baptism: "I baptise you in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit."

  • Sacrament of Reconciliation (Confession/Penance)

    A child must have been baptised or received into the Catholic Church and have received the Sacrament of Baptism to be eligible to receive this Sacrament of Healing.
  • The Sacrament of First Reconciliation Preparation Program will begin this year on Tuesday 18th March 2025 at 4:15pm at St Peter’s Parish Centre (583 Toorak Road, Toorak, 3142).

    The Sacrament of First Reconciliation will be celebrated on Wednesday 21st May 2025 at 6:00pm at St Peter's Church Toorak (581 Toorak Road, Toorak, 3142).

    The First Reconciliation Sacramental Preparation is a 7-week programme. Each session will go for approximately 1 hour and 15 minutes, in which parents or pre-advised guardians can pick up their child/children from the Parish Centre (583 Toorak Road, Toorak, 3142). This is where most of the classes are run from.

    The Parish’s Sacramental Program will be taught in person. For those who are unable to attend in person due to illness or immediate after school activities, homework and the session will be send to you, the parent via email after the session. Attendance for all sessions are essential, but understandably school camps, illness, etc. happen. Like at school, you will need to let Delisa or the Parish Office know if your child is unable to attend a scheduled session. If your child misses more than two sessions, a makeup session will need to be organised for another date and time.

    Parents/Guardians will need to sign in and sign out their child/children during drop off and pick up times. Your child/children cannot sign in or out for themselves. 

    The Parish Carpark gates will be open from 4:00pm – 4:45pm and then again from 5:00pm – 5:45pm for your convenience. The Parish Carpark can be found at 585 Toorak Road, Toorak, 3142, underneath The Benson Retirement Village.

    Please Note: Toorak Road towards Burwood becomes a ‘Tow Away Zone’ after 4:30pm, until 6:30pm. Directions to enter Underground Carpark via Toorak Road - Left Turn Only, from Toorak Road towards Burwood. No Right Turn allowed for City bound traffic.

    Reconciliation is a Sacrament of Healing. It celebrates God’s love, mercy and forgiveness. It is one of the seven sacraments of the Church and offers the grace and peace to recommit ourselves to the Christian way of life and reconcile ourselves to God and each other. 

    We ask for your support, involvement, encouragement and prayer during this time of Preparation, so that your child may be well prepared and look forward eagerly to his or her First Reconciliation.

    A child must have been baptised or received into the Catholic Church and have received the Sacraments of Baptism and Reconciliation to be eligible to receive this Sacrament of Initiation.

    The Sacrament of First Holy Communion will be celebrated on Saturday 9th August 2025 at 6:00pm at St Peter's Church Toorak (581 Toorak Road, Toorak, 3142).

    The First Holy Communion Sacramental Preparation is a 7-week programme. Each session will go for approximately 1 hour and 15 minutes, in which parents or pre-advised guardians can pick up their child/children from the Parish Centre (583 Toorak Road, Toorak, 3142).   • ENROLMENT COMMITMENT:
    We desire to enrol our child into the Parish Preparation Program for the Sacraments of Reconciliation / First Holy Communion.
    We recognise that we are their first teachers in the ways of faith and that we are doing our best to provide for our child a true pattern of Christian living. In particular, we acknowledge a commitment to the celebration of Sunday Mass and of family prayer.
    We are aware that our child must be carefully prepared for full and active participation in the Sacramental life of the Church, and that the responsibility for this preparation is primarily our own.
    We rely on God’s help and the continued support and encouragement of God’s people in the Church to faithfully accept these responsibilities.

    By signing below, we confirm that we have read and understood this document ‘Sacramental Preparation Enrolment Letter and Enrolment Form’ and, ‘Protecting God’s Children – Parent Resource: A Catholic Parent’s Guide to Keeping Their Kids Safe’ and we are willing to allow our child/children to participate in the Commitment Mass, Information Evening, the SEVEN Sacramental Preparation sessions and Ceremony as outlined in this form. 

  • Program Cost

    There is an enrolment fee which covers the expenses for teaching materials and light refreshments provided during the sessions.
    The Enrolment fee of $200 (per family) is to be transferred electronically into parish account. This fee is for the preparation of both First Reconciliation and First Holy Communion.
