    The following terms and conditions govern an Advanced Paediatric Chiropractor’s use of the Advanced Paediatric Chiropractor Recognition designated by the ACCP:
  • Advanced Paediatric Chiropractor Recognition (“recognition") 

    1. Initial application and reapplication for Advanced Paediatric Chiropractor Recognition

    1. Application packs are housed in the Advanced Paediatric Chiropractor application webpage of the ACCP website. A complete application, meeting all lodgement instructions must be submitted before a closure date for review specified in the application materials. Late applications will be moved to the next review period.

    2. Applications must be fully prepared by the individual applicant. ACCP policy is to provide no additional assistance in the application process; this policy prevents unfair disadvantage.

    3. All information contained in an application must be true, complete and accurate at the time of lodgement. In the event any such information provided as part of an application becomes untrue or inaccurate (including by way of omission) at any time during an application or the currency of Recognition, the individual must immediately notify ACCP of this fact.

    4. False or misleading information contained within an application:

      1. will render an application invalid;
      2. may be reported to AHPRA and/or to the Chiropractic Board of Australia; and
      3. the individual may be barred from making applications to the ACCP in the future.

    5. It is a requirement for Recognition that Advanced Paediatric Chiropractors maintain currency of their Chiropractic registration and meet all continuing practice development requirements to achieve continuous improvement in Paediatric care. Advanced Paediatric Chiropractors will need to renew their   recognition on a triennial basis (every three years)

    6. Advanced Paediatric Chiropractor applicants will be contacted for any pending review and at the applicable renewal date but timely renewal of Registration remains the responsibility of the individual.

    7. If an Advanced Paediatric Chiropractor does not reapply for Recognition or lapses in recognition requirements, all recognition benefits will be withdrawn. The title and any associated wording or branding must not be used; all recognition benefits must be removed from all promotions, advertising or websites.

    8. The ACCP reserves the right to conduct compliance checks. Unauthorised use of branding is a breach of these terms and conditions and may infringe ACCP’s copyright and/or registered trademarks.  Advanced Paediatric Chiropractors should also be aware that unauthorised use may infringe AHPRA’s Guidelines for advertising regulated health services.

  • 2. Application fees, payment and cancellation refunds

    1. Application fees are charged on a reasonable ‘cost-recovery basis’ for time spent assessing an application. Fee rates may change from time to time. The schedule of fees is contained on the Advanced Paediatric Chiropractor recognition application page.

    2. The full application fee must be paid before the application assessment occurs; partial payment is not accepted.

    3. Post payment, incomplete applications will be returned for completion and resubmission. Fees will be held until resubmission, however, lodgement timelines are not extended or altered, and late re-submission may delay a review.

    4. Application fees are a professional development expense and candidates are encouraged to speak with an accountant about any potential tax benefits.

    5. Refunds for cancellation can be requested only within 48 hours of lodging an application and before initial application administration commences. Once administration and review work are in progress, the application fee is non-refundable.

  • 3. Conditions and use of titling and recognition

    1. Titling and all promotional benefits may only be used, referred to and cited in the precise manner designated and awarded by the ACCP:

      1. Advanced Paediatric Chiropractors may utilise the term “Advanced Paediatric Chiropractor” as a part of promotional material, business cards, or clinical documents in the following manner:

        “Dr [NAME], [QUALIFICATIONS], Advanced Paediatric Chiropractor (ACCP)”

        No variation of this wording is permitted for use.

      2. Advanced Paediatric Chiropractors may provide a short description of entitlement to the Advanced Paediatric Chiropractor title, and it is advised to use the following paragraph:

        “An Advanced Paediatric Chiropractor is a full member of the Australian College of Chiropractic Paediatrics (ACCP) and has completed a minimum 2-year postgraduate qualification in paediatric chiropractic recognised by the ACCP.”

    2. In applying a title, under no circumstances is the title to be associated or connected with the protected terms ‘specialist’, ‘special’, ‘specialised’, or ‘specialisation’ as protected AHPRA registration categories. For further information on what is expected in advertising regulated health services and practitioners, refer to AHPRA’s Guidelines for advertising regulated health services.

    3. Titles may not be used to imply that a clinic and all its practitioners are Advanced Paediatric Chiropractors. A title is a designation for a single practitioner. The ACCP will make this clear to members of the public and health stakeholders inquiring of the scope of a title and any conduct or use of a recognition which infringes this rule will lead to the immediate cancellation of the individual(s) recognition.

    4. Electronic/digital logos awarded to differentiate an Advanced Paediatric Chiropractor will generally not be positioned on clinic landing pages but on individual practitioner profiles unless a sole practitioner has been awarded and the website only promotes the sole practitioner.

    5. Advanced Paediatric Chiropractors engage in a trust-based system and responsibility is on practitioners to assist the ACCP to govern and uphold good practice in recognition.

    6. The ACCP takes no responsibility for use of the recognition other than as expressly set out in these Terms and Conditions and associated ACCP documentation.

    7. Individuals should inform themselves of the rules and regulations around use of advertising regulated health services and ensure that they comply in all respects and the ACCP will accept no liability (and Advanced Paediatric Chiropractor’s hereby expressly wave and release ACCP from any and all such liability) arising as a result and an individual breaching any of AHPRA’s applicable rules and regulations concerning advertising of a regulated health practice.

    8. An Advanced Paediatric Chiropractor will indemnify ACCP against any costs or losses suffered by ACCP as a result of that individual’s use of the recognition other than in accordance with the terms and conditions and associated ACCP documentation or in a manner which breaches AHPRA’s guidelines on advertising a regulated health service.

    9. In addition to all other remedies available to ACCP at law or in equity, misuse of the recognition may lead to:

      1. removal of the title and recognition benefits
      2. exclusion from the Advanced Paediatric Chiropractor Recognition process and community of practice; and/or
      3. referral to regulators or complaint bodies, including AHPRA or the Chiropractic Board of Australia.

    10. Advanced Paediatric Chiropractor’s acknowledge and agree that the reputation of Advanced Paediatric Chiropractors relies upon appropriate use of recognition benefits.

    11. The ACCP accepts no responsibility for actions taken against members over inappropriate use of any information or branding associated with Advanced Paediatric Chiropractor recognition.

  • 4. Display of APC Logo

    Advanced Paediatric Chiropractors are entitled to display the Advanced Paediatric Chiropractor Window Decal, however in using the Advanced Paediatric Chiropractor decal, you will need to comply with the Advanced Paediatric Chiropractors/ACCP member decal usage guidelines below:

    1. The right to display the “Advanced Paediatric Chiropractor decal” is restricted to ACCP members with Advanced Paediatric Chiropractor recognition

    2. The Advanced Paediatric Chiropractor decal is designed to be placed on the clinic window or glass door.

    3. For Advanced Paediatric Chiropractors who are principals of a multi-practitioner Clinic, where there are non- Advanced Paediatric Chiropractor practitioners, the Advanced Paediatric Chiropractors decal may be used in clinic signage only if the principal is currently practising in that clinic.

    4. For Advanced Paediatric Chiropractors practising within a multi-practitioner clinic, where there are non- Advanced Paediatric Chiropractor practitioners, the Advanced Paediatric Chiropractor decal must be used in a way that clearly identifies the Advanced Paediatric Chiropractor and not the clinic nor its other practitioners.

    5. Advanced Paediatric Chiropractor decals must be removed either at the end of membership cycle, or upon receipt of the new decal, or immediately at termination of Advanced Paediatric Chiropractor recognition or ACCP membership.

  • 5. Good Character

    1. Advanced Paediatric Chiropractors are required to adhere to the requirements of professional conduct as detailed by the Australian Health Practitioners Regulation Agency (AHPRA).

    2. Advanced Paediatric Chiropractors are required to adhere to the requirements of professional conduct as detailed by the Chiropractic Board of Australia (CBA).

    3. Advanced Paediatric Chiropractors are required to adhere to the membership requirements of the ACCP as detailed within the ACCP Constitution.

    4. Advanced Paediatric Chiropractors are required to adhere to the requirements put forward in the Advanced Paediatric Chiropractor Quality Practice Framework.

  • 6. Loss of Advanced Paediatric Chiropractor Recognition and title

    1. Advanced Paediatric Chiropractors are leaders whose behaviour, conduct or approach may be more liable to be scrutinised by the public and health stakeholders. All minimum AHPRA requirements must be adhered to by Advanced Paediatric Chiropractors in addition to recognition requirements.

    2. Advanced Paediatric Chiropractor will immediately notify the ACCP, in writing, if AHPRA conditions, undertakings or other professional sanctions are applied to them as soon as they are applied.

    3. Failure to report can undermine the value of Advanced Paediatric Chiropractor recognition and bring the system and organisation into disrepute. Failure to report may result in suspension or loss of recognition.

    4. The ACCP will determine the appropriate response to be applied once notification is made; responses may include revoking a title and recognition benefits and imposing a period of application preclusion.

    5. As part of the initial recognition and reapplication process, AHPRA records are reviewed. Where conditions, undertakings or professional sanctions are identified that have not been notified to the ACCP, this will be deemed to be a breach and a preclusion may apply.

  • 7. Rights and safeguards

    1. Applicants acknowledge that information provision is voluntary in the application review process, but that failure to provide the requested information means an application cannot be processed.

    2. Applicants have the right to confidentiality, privacy and non-disclosure of lodged information to third parties beyond the ACCP’s staff managing the Advanced Paediatric Chiropractor recognition process. Applicants provide information defined as ‘personal’ by the Privacy Act 1988 and is held as such. It may be given to service providers engaged by the ACCP. On occasion the ACCP may use data from the review process to support lobbying, develop de-identified annual reports or summary updates.

    3. Applicants have the right to access and alter personal information in accordance with the Australian Privacy Principles and our privacy policy.

    4. Applicants have the right to lodge a complaint, give feedback and suggest improvements to Advanced Paediatric Chiropractor recognition processes or operations.

    5. Applicants can appeal a panel determination if one or more aspects of the review are not performed, performed inadequately or if data or evidence is oversighted in the review. Applicants will need to provide detailed reasons for an appeal to proceed.

  • 8. Fee payment/Recognition costs

    1. Application fee as set out in the Application Form and on the ACCP Website.

    2. Yearly Advanced Paediatric Chiropractor recognition fee as set out on the ACCP Website and varied from time to time in the ACCP’s sole discretion.

      1. To be paid prior to 1 January of the corresponding year
      2. Failure to pay by 1 January may result in immediate loss of recognition.

  • 9. Disclaimer

    1. In the process of reviewing applicants, the ACCP will take all reasonable care to confirm the accuracy of information provided and to assess applications in a fair and transparent manner.  However, the ACCP accepts no liability to applicants for the rejection of an application, based on the recommendation of the applicable peer review panel.

    2. The ACCP takes no responsibility for the accuracy, currency, reliability and correctness of any information provided by an applicant or by third parties, nor the accuracy, currency, reliability and correctness of links or references to information sources outside of the ACCP.

    3. While the ACCP makes reasonable efforts to include accurate and up-to-date application information, in the event any item is listed at an incorrect price or with other incorrect information due to a typographical or other error, the ACCP shall have the right to correct the information and ask applicants to amend their application accordingly.

    4. In no event shall the ACCP a liable for any indirect, consequential, incidental, special, punitive or other damages whatsoever (including without limitation, damages for loss of business profits, business interruption, or loss of business information), even if the ACCP has been advised of the possibility of such damages, which arise out of the use of a recognition or the rejection of an application.
