Shaping the Future of Farmed Animal Research with GenoPHEnix
  • Background

Farm animal genomics and phenotyping research in Europe is fragmented, leading to duplicated efforts and restricted access. While past EU-funded projects fostered collaboration, a long-term infrastructure is needed to maximize impact. GenoPHEnix-RI aims to fill this gap by creating a multi-species research platform for genome and phenome studies, sustainable breeding, and animal management.

    Our Vision

    GenoPHEnix-RI will

    - Improve farmed animal health, welfare, and sustainability.
    - Enhance phenotyping and genotyping capabilities.
    - Support the 3Rs (Reduction, Refinement, Replacement) in research.
    - Develop integrated genome and phenome databases.
    - Provide advanced tools for breeding and genetic conservation.

    Why Your Input Matters

GenoPHEnix-RI will serve researchers, policymakers, breeding companies, biobanks, laboratories, and industry professionals. Your feedback will shape its services and policies.
