About City Green Group Volunteering

City Green’s Group Volunteer Program offers a way for groups and corporations to work alongside members of City Green's Community Horticulture and Agriculture teams to maintain and enhance the productivity of the farms and gardens. Volunteers build community with one another and take place in a collective effort with fellow participants.

About City Green Facilities

• City Green volunteering is fully outdoors at both Clifton, Paterson, and South Branch. Volunteers should bring their own filled water bottles. Portable water refil stations are available at all sites, but disposable waterbottles are not. 
• Porta-potties and hand sanitizer are available at all sites. Full public restrooms are only available at the Clifton Site.

Inclement Weather

• City Green volunteering is fully outdoors and weather dependent.
  Trips will be canceled if there are heavy rains, snow, or temperatures above 95 ̊F.
• Weather-based cancellations will be made at 4:00 PM the day before. 
• Groups will be rescheduled depending upon City Green and organization availability.

Bee Allergy Safety

• All City Green Properties are bee and pollinator friendly! All volunteering is held fully outdoors, and we cannot guarantee any outdoor bee-free spaces or indoor volunteer tasks. 
• All Volunteers will be asked to sign our Bee Allergy Waiver in order to participate.

Different Types of Groups

Community Group Volunteers

Community Group Volunteers are welcome to will join us on a regularly scheduled Wednesday morning or evening volunteer session at our Farm Eco-Center in Clifton. Pre-registration is required for any community group over 5 individuals. Community groups include boy/girl scout troops, schools, faith-based organizations, college clubs and fraternities, and more. Volunteers must be at least 13 years old to participate and must complete a Volunteer Waiver ahead of time.

Corporate Volunteers

Sponsorship fee for Corporate Volunteer Groups starts at $500.

Your volunteer day will support our efforts to maintain the sustainable and regenerative farm fields and gardens beds! Your team will support our garden and farms with planting, mulching, harvesting, bed preparation and more. Volunteering can take place at any one of our sites depending on your location and which project needs the most support. Max group size: 25

For larger groups or those looking to make a special, lasting impact, inquire about one of our exclusive volunteer projects. A larger sponsorship from your company will be used to power a more impactful project. We procure tools, plants, and materials needed to complete a large, special project and we lead your team through a morning that will transform our space.
