• The Scientific Endeavour: THE SKY SO MUCH NEARER (EP)

  • An oil painting depicting a scene in which the viewer is looking out a stained-glass window that has only two of three panes with glass in blue, green, and turqoise patterning in the arches. The first two glass panes show a blue-green river flowing across hills into a setting or rising sun, with a colorful sky with a single fluffy cloud. There is a blue bird only partially depicted. The third pane is open to the outdoors, showing the rest of the bird but as a real bird (a female fairy wren), perched on the windowsill outside. Behind the bird are groassy fields and the setting or rising sun, seeming to connect to the stained glass scene. The painting is photographed with a real black yarn swirling out of the stained-glass river, into the room, through the fairy wren's beak, and back outside. Around the window is dark brown and dusty looking.
  • THE SKY SO MUCH NEARER is an electro-orchestral EP about disability, space and time, and the love of life and living. It explores transcendent joy, bitter regret, and Gothic melodrama with synths, samples, strings, metaphors about songbirds, and the occasional plaintive harp. Join us as we break out of the tower.

The Scientific Endeavour comprises Divya M. Persaud and Najia Khaled: poets, musicians, songwriters, and twin halves of a single entity. Their previous collaborative efforts include the LP THEY WILL BE FREE (2017). Their music combines baroque instrumentation, found percussion, and a goodly amount of beeps and boops.
