    ⚠️ Important Notice: Water Treatment Discharge & Septic Systems

    Wastewater from water treatment devices, including reject, waste, or discharge water, must not be drained into the septic system and should instead be diverted to a separate location or dry well. If regeneration waste from a water softener is to be directed into the septic system, the designer must be notified immediately.

    Certain wastes are strictly prohibited from entering a private sewage system, including waste from iron filters, stormwater, surface water, abattoirs, swimming pools, hot tubs, industrial processes, sump pits, weeping tiles, and foundation drains.

    Garburators (also known as food waste disposals or garbage disposals) are NOT recommended for use with septic systems. They introduce solid food waste into the system, which can lead to faster sludge buildup, increased maintenance costs, and potential system failure.
