  • A Gentle Transition into a Lasting Tribute

If you are on this form, chances are you are currently navigating a tender & painful chapter in your life. When a beloved companion passes, there’s an ache that settles into quiet corners of the home and heart. In the stillness that follows, preservation offers a way to honor that life with intention and dignity. Through the art of natural memorial work, I’m here to create a resting state that reflects a gentle transition from life into stillness, where your memories remain rooted. Each animal I preserve is treated with the same reverence I would give to my own. The entire process happens slowly, mindfully, and entirely by hand. I dry and forage my own florals, foliage, and natural materials, often from the same landscapes we shared with them; woods, fields, gardens. My memorials are often framed or displayed in antique or vintage displays that I scavenge and restore, some are upwards of 100+ years old. Along with which many contemporary options are available as well. These aren’t just animals. They are companions, souls, and a part of the fabric of our days. I consider it an honor to help preserve that bond not just as a keepsake, but as a continuation of love. I know this is a long form, but I have a lot I need to get to know about you & your pet! Thank you for your patience.

  • Pet Memorial Application

A 50 percent deposit is required within 24 hours of application approval. Only submit this form if you are ready to move forward with a memorial & pay deposit. This application does not commit you to a project, but I receive a high volume of early inquiries such as ā€œfor when my pet passes.ā€ After I review your application, I will contact you with a more accurate quote. You will then have the opportunity to either proceed with the commission or decline services.

  • Add-on Display options:

For an additional fee, you may choose to have your pet presented in a custom display, such as a: Glass dome, Glass globe, Glass coffin, Acrylic square display, Shadowbox, (Vintage frames may incur additional fees to source). All display options include a curated arrangement of florals, insects, crystals, and moss. The add-on display fee starts at $250. For large animals, skull only may be eligible for display options. No display options for large full body skeletons.
  • Cremation:

I’m adding this section because I keep getting requests for this on this application even though it is not listed as a preservation option. I do not offer Cremation. Cremation requires specialized, high-temperature equipment that produces significant heat, smoke, and emissions. Most areas aren’t zoned for this type of operation. Local fire, air quality, and health regulations prohibit running cremation units in homes & business studios. Because of this, (most) small preservation artists legally can’t offer cremation services from residential spaces or work spaces without the proper zoning and licensing, nor have the specialty high-temp equipment. If you make cremation arrangements yourself that is local to me, I can drop off animal remains for cremation.

  • Oxidation vs. Articulation

Oxidation (small animals only): An easier & more efficient, chemical method used to break down soft tissue while leaving vital connective tissue in tact. Ideal for small specimens where tissue volume is low and bones are fragile. It’s effective for preserving fine structures without harsh cleaning or loss of small bones in order to preserve full skeletons in tact without having to piece together. Not suitable for large animals because the thick muscle mass and dense tissue makes this process impossible.

Ā Articulation (large animals only):Ā A longer, more manual & involved process ofĀ structural reassembly of fully cleaned bones piece by piece, typically prepared using dermestid beetles or maceration -This process I would manually reassemble each piece into a complete skeleton using wire, glue, and supports. Suitable for larger species where oxidation isn’t viable. This process takes longer & is more difficult then oxidation due to animal size & method difficulty

    Price minimums full body skeleton

    Small pets (Oxidation)

    Small (ex. Hamster/rats) : $250 minimum +

medium (ex. Rabbits/ Small Reptiles) : $500 minimumĀ

Large (ex. Adult bearded dragons, Pythons etc) : $800 minimum

    Large pets (Articulation)Ā

    (ex. Cats/Small dogs 10lb max) : $1,250 minimum +

    (medium dogs 11lbs-35lbs) : $3,200 minimum +

    (ex. Dogs 36lbs+) : $5,500 minimum +

    Skull only or loose bones:Ā

Both options are a more budget friendly option. $ dependent on animal. If you chose loose bones- Ā Small petsĀ will come in curio jars and twine. Larger pets will come individually wrapped aesthetically in twine. Both will be sent in a hand stained wooden box with moss.

    Add-on:

Pelt preservation (whole body or a small piece)

Pelt is not guaranteed "taxidermy mount" quality. This service is mostly so you have something preserved to be able to pet & feel. Along with the most common mammal pelt requests, Reptile hides can also be an add-onĀ but due to the delicate nature of reptile skin, this offering is limited to partial hides only-not full body hidesĀ or taxidermy quality hide mounts. All pelts/hidesĀ can be preserved as a standalone keepsake, put in a pendant or framed for display. Some choose to have the hide shaped into a heart, framed naturally, or left simple and unadorned.

$75 for partial reptile hide in small black shadowbox.

$250 for 8x8 mammal pelt (comes in an open face black shadowbox. Glass is optional, but I find people prefer it open so they can occasionally pet the pelt.

$ dependent on animal size for full-body pelt.

    Ā

    Additional Notes:

All pet memorials will come with a Free wooden mourningĀ box, hand-stained and customized with memorial accessories. No box is the same because no pet is the same. Because this is a free item with all pet memorials, it is the artist's choice on accessories & stain color. Mourning Boxes are not customizable for what goes into them.

If you are sending a pet reptile, it is your responsibility to send me an extra shed if you'd like a free "shed" pendant / vial included in your memorial box. If your reptile wasntĀ close to shedding prior to passing, I cannot extract a shed. All pet mammals will come with a free fur pendant or fur vial based on availability. (This is not the hide/pelt preservation mentioned above, this is only loose shed or fur.)

memorial boxes may include-but not guaranteed(based on available inventory) :

    - shed / fur pendant or vial if applicable.

    -mini whisker bouquet if applicable

    Do NOT GHOST

If you decide to not follow through with your pet memorial, that is okay! Stuff happens. But Ghosting will affect future eligibility. My time is valuable, just as yours isšŸ–¤ Please just use open communication.

    Storage and Communication

•Clients receive 30 days of free storage after notification that their pet is complete and ready for return.
After the 30-day period, a $5 per day storage fee will apply until the remaining balance is paid and shipping or pickup is arranged.
Due to limited workspace and multiple ongoing commissions, clients are expected to complete payment and arrange your pet's return promptly after notification.
If you require additional time, please communicate this in advance.

    Abandoned Orders

Please fill out your application when you are confident you have the time to communicate in a timely manner. I Have a zero tolerance for flakey clients & expect a response within 24 hours of application approval.Ā If you have a specific date in mind to pay your deposit, that is totally fine, just communicate this to me once your application is approved. If you chose not to move forward, please communicate this to me so I can close out your application.

Ā During the process, If there is no response for 30 consecutive days following notifications or updates from myself, despite multiple reminders, or if communication ceases entirely, the pet will be resold to recover costs, and the deposit will be void and non-refundable. I have zero tolerance to ghosting.

    Ā

    Refund Policy

Deposits are non-refundable. Once deposit is paid, I start buying supplies I need. Even if you have not sent your pet to me yet, assume i have started prepping and buying supplies for when they arrive.Ā Once preservation begins, the process cannot be reversed. If you are unsatisfied with the final result, no refund will be issued. If you fail to pay the remainder balanceĀ your pet will be resold to recover costs.
I provide detailed communication and progress updates throughout the process, allowing time for feedback before completion.
If your pet is lost in transit BEFOREĀ it reaches me, your deposit will be fully refunded, as this is outside of our control. Willingly backing out of a commission is not a reason for a refund & will be denied.

    Expectations and Materials

I do not claim to produce perfect work. All memorials are handcrafted with care, but results may vary due to the nature of organic materials (the animal).Ā
Please review my portfolio via my website and Instagram before submitting a request, and understand that natural variations in preservation outcomes are to be expected. If your pet had any illness (sometimes hidden illnesses) this can effect bone delicacy or porosity & may respond poorly to processing, deteriorating the bones. If your pet was on any antibiotics or medications, there is a chance of them having stained bones (often neon-like yellow) that usually can not be removed. Common medications include Tetracyclines: doxycycline or oxytetracycline. These can bind to the calcium in their bones and fluoresce them permanently.Ā

    Timeline

The preservation process for full body skeletons typically takes six to twelve months for proper completion. But depending on size, can be longer. This is not a quick or easy service.
This timeline does not include waiting periods if other clients are ahead of you. This is just an estimate & could be completed sooner/longer. I pride myself in communicating and updating clients regularly.
Your patience is appreciated as I prioritize quality and detail in every project.

    Shipping Policy

Shipping will not be cheap when sending frozen items. Please keep in mind the expenses to have a memorial done.Ā Shipping to and from the studio is the responsibility of the client and is not included in the original preservation quote.
I am not liable for lost or damaged mail.

    Shipping your pet to me:

Apologies if this seems abrupt but I've now had a fewĀ clients disregard my instructions: You MUST SHIP ON MONDAY ONLY, & you MUST chose overnight shipping. Mondays are the only days that frozen packages don't get delayed in my experience. If you disregard instructions and your package is delayed, I am not responsible for your pet being left outside and decaying. Please, ONLY ship on MONDAYS.Ā It is unfair for me to have to work on an animal for months while smelling strong odors of rot and decay. It is non-hygeinic and extremely unpleasant. Please be considerate. Rotten or decaying animals will be rejected and sent back from now on, & deposit will not be refunded OR if you insist on proceeding with my services, a +$200 decay fee will apply.Rest assured, if you follow my instructions & ship overnight your animal will arrive just fine. I will not fault you if it is a mail carrier mistake - but in my experiences it has been sender error. There is NO RUSH to ship me your pet. If you have paid your deposit, but need to save for shipping costs & wait to ship, that is %100 acceptable, your deposit secures your place in line and you have time to arrange for shipping.

Please line the box with left-over styrofoam, or put your petĀ in a styrofoam ice chest, inlude A LOT of icepacks, then put that in a shipping box. Pets should have multiple ice packs to ensure best delivery condition. Overnight shipping isĀ required from now on.Ā Only ship your pet once it is frozen solid(typically takes 48-72 hours to freeze). If you have a small or delicate animal, it is best to place your pet in a Tupperware with paper towels as cushion to prevent ice packs from breaking any bones. All pets need to be sealed in a bag or Tupperware with paper towels or newspaper inside to prevent hazardous leaking in transit.

Shipping your completed memorial back to you:

I will package your memorial, weigh the package, and purchase your shipping label. All shipments include insurance, tracking, and a signature requirement upon delivery to protect your memorial, along with double boxing each memorial with excess padding. All shipping fees are the buyer's responsibility. This policy is non-negotiable. Please monitor tracking and ensure someone is available to sign for the package upon delivery. Expect shipping fee to be added toĀ your final payment.Ā

Ā I am not financially or legally responsible for lost or damaged mail.Ā I have NEVERĀ had a memorial get lost or arrive damaged due to the protocols I set in place but that being said, I am not Amazon, so you’ll be solely responsible for handling claims with the postal office yourself if needed.

    Ā

  • There is a current waitlist right now of 3 months. A %50 deposit is required to reserve your spot in line, they fill up fast so its best to get in line before i close off commissions permanently for the year. If you have a small pet (nothing larger than a rabbit) we can arrange to have your animal shipped to me while you wait so I can store them until I am able to start on them. If you have a larger animal (bigger than a rabbit) you will need to pay your %50 deposit, and hold onto your pet until I have freezer space to store them. Deposits are non-refundable NO EXCEPTIONS. I will update waitlist as I go. You must keep your pet frozen solid at all times.
