• If a business offers its services directly to vehicle owners and works on cars itself, it’s an IO (workshop).
• If a business offers services only to other workshops, not directly touching the vehicle except via remote connection, then it’s acting as an RSS.

Insurance Coverage Confirmation

The company holds an active insurance policy covering liability related to security-related Repair and Maintenance Information (RMI). The coverage meets or exceeds the following minimum requirements:

• Public Liability Insurance of at least €1,000,000 for bodily injury claims.
• Property Damage Insurance of at least €500,000.
• Additional coverage as required by national and local regulations for operating within the SERMI framework.

A valid insurance certificate, issued by an authorized insurance provider, is mandatory to be procided to VALIDX | ICDQ Partners and VALIDX Inspector. I acknowledge that failure to maintain valid insurance coverage throughout the certification period may result in suspension or revocation of SERMI certification

Criminal Record Clearance for All Employees Requiring SERMI Certification

All technicians applying for SERMI certification have undergone a legal background check. Each technician has provided a valid criminal record extract issued by the relevant national authority, confirming that:

• The technician has not been convicted of offenses related to fraud, unauthorized vehicle access, data breaches, or cybersecurity violations.
• The technician meets all legal and ethical requirements necessary to handle security-related RMI.

I understand that failure to provide valid criminal records or the discovery of disqualifying offenses will lead to immediate rejection of this application or future suspension of certification.

By submitting this application, you acknowledge that the information provided will be used exclusively for the purpose of assessing compliance with the SERMI Scheme (Regulation (EU) 2021/1244) and other applicable EU regulations, including ISO/IEC 17020:2012 and ISO 18541. This data is required to verify your eligibility to access security-related Repair and Maintenance Information (RMI) and to process your certification. VALIDX processes personal and company data under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) (EU) 2016/679) based on compliance with legal obligations, legitimate interest, and the performance of a contract. Applicants are required to submit company details, legal entity registration, employee records, criminal background checks, liability insurance, workshop security protocols, and technical compliance documents. Personal data of employees, such as names, roles, and ID documents, will be processed strictly for verification purposes. The data collected will be securely stored in compliance with GDPR and VALIDX's Information Security Management System and retained for the certification validity period of five years plus an additional two years for regulatory and audit purposes.

To complete the certification process, VALIDX | ICDQ Partners will share essential certification-related data with the official SERMI Trust Center (Digidentity) for issuing digital credentials, ensuring that certified workshops and authorized technicians can securely access security-related RMI from Vehicle Manufacturers (VMs). Applicants and their employees have the right to access, rectify, delete, restrict, or object to processing where legally applicable and may file a complaint with the relevant Data Protection Authority if they believe their data has been misused. By submitting this application, you confirm that you understand the regulatory requirements for SERMI Certification, authorize VALIDX ICDQ Partners to process and share relevant information with accreditation bodies, regulators, and the SERMI Trust Center, and acknowledge that certification cannot be issued without the required documentation.

The undersigned as Legal Representative of the Company, subject to to Presidential Decree no. 445/2000 (articles 47 and 76) declare that:

1. I have entered into a regular employment contract with the above employees subject to the certification (will be verified during Inspection)
2. I have no Criminal Record (Crimilan Record proof required during Inspection)
3. I have provided valid information, including business registration, liability insurance above
4. I have not received revocations of certifications pursuant to DELEGATED REGULATION (EU) NR.1244/2021 from another body
5. The Company subject to this certification complies with the procedural requirements and that it does not carry out any work related to vehicle emissions (processing/chip tuning)
