The National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP) is a venerable organization with a rich history and an unwavering commitment to the principles of civil rights, equality, and social justice. Established in 1909, the NAACP has been at the forefront of advocating for the rights and well-being of African Americans and marginalized communities.
Purpose: The NAACP Willingboro & Vicinity Scholarship Program is a manifestation of the organization's dedication to empowering the next generation of leaders through education. This scholarship initiative aims to recognize and support outstanding individuals who embody the values of the NAACP by demonstrating academic excellence, leadership potential, and a commitment to social change.
Reward: The selected individual(s) from the pool of qualified applicants will be awarded a scholarship for financial assistance during the 2025-26 academic year of $1,000.00.
Qualifications: Interested candidates must meet the following criteria to qualify for this award:
- MUST be a member of the NAACP Willingboro & Vicinity branch, not older than 21 yrs;
- 2 letters of recommendations (cannot be family member);
- Complete 25 hours of community service (August 2024 - May 2025) ;
- Submit 3-5 minute presentation using PowerPoint (or any other presentation application)
