  • Introduction and Overview

  • The City of Harrisonburg launched the Erickson Avenue Area Study in January 2025, which will create a new small area plan for the Erickson Avenue corridor and adjacent areas between S. High Street and S. Main Street. The plan will be informed by the City of Harrisonburg’s Comprehensive Plan and will guide transportation infrastructure investments made by the City or constructed with development of property in the area.

In February 2025, we introduced the Erickson Avenue Area Study to the community and collected feedback on existing transportation conditions, needs, and desires for the future. We combined this feedback with projections for future development and multimodal transportation analysis to create recommendations for potential transportation improvements that reflect the current and future needs of the community.

View the recommendations for future transportation improvements.

The results from this feedback form will help us finalize the plan and recommendations for future transportation infrastructure improvements.
