  • Ohio ProStart Alumni Scholarship Program

    2026 APPLICATION FOR ROY & MONICA GETZ ALUMNI SCHOLARSHIP

  • Hospitality Institute of Ohio is pleased to offer the 2026 Roy & Monica Getz Scholarship program to you. Scholarship award minimum is $1000.00.

    Scholarship funds not used by December 31, 2026 will be forfeited.

    Eligibility Criteria:

    • A former Ohio ProStart student that successfully graduated from the program and is currently pursuing a major in the culinary arts, restaurant management or foodservice industry.
    • Enrolled as a full-time student (minimum of 12 credit hours) or delayed admission after ProStart graduation and will be enrolled as a student.
    • Minimum GPA of 3.0
    • Plan to major in a restaurant or foodservice related program.
    • Recipients cannot be employees or family members of the National Restaurant Association, NRAEF, or a state restaurant association or foundation (e.g., Hospitaltiy Institute of Ohio).
    • If awarded scholarship, MUST ATTEND Celebration of the Stars Award luncheon being held on May 5, 2026.  

    For your application to be reviewed by the scholarship committee, the following items are required by JANUARY 31, 2026:
    1. Completed application form.
    2. Transcript from current school.
    3. TWO letters of recommendation on School or Company letterhead from current or previous teachers, mentors and/or employers.
    4. Completed Financial Information and essay.
    5. Digital yearbook photo, senior picture or professional headshot. No selfies, please.
