Ohio ProStart Teacher of Excellence

The Ohio ProStart Teacher of Excellence Award is awarded to an outstanding Ohio ProStart educator who has made a significant contribution to their students, school and their community. The winner will be recognized at the Celebration of the Stars Luncheon being held on May 6, 2025. The winner is Ohio ProStart’s candidate for consideration at the National Educator of Excellence Awards held at an NRAEF event this summer.

 A candidate may be self-nominated, nominated by a current or former student, industry employer, member of their administration, co-worker, advisory board member or fellow educator. Candidates must be actively engaged with Ohio ProStart and have students participate in the many aspects of the Ohio ProStart program, including curriculum, competitions, employment, testing, scholarships and obtaining the industry credential Certificate of Achievement (COA). While we appreciate the other organizations, activities and competitions you are associated with, this award recognizes your specific achievements in regards to Ohio ProStart and the various opportunities available. Previous winners are eligible to apply.

Consider the following:

• Share specific examples of their dedication to ProStart student success, innovative teaching methods, connection to industry, and/or contributions to the school community.
• Highlight the qualities that make them an outstanding educator and elaborate on any notable achievements that set them apart. Response should capture the essence of their impact on their ProStart students and the school, showcasing why they deserve this prestigious recognition.
• How does this educator implement ProStart to better prepare their students for a career in the hospitality industry.
• What opportunities does this educator provide for their students, such as  competitions, field trips, industry presenters in the classroom, applied for Support Grant, administer ProStart exams and assists with students earning the industry credential Certificate of Achievement (COA), etc.,
• List any community involvement activities?
