Painted Pianos is a one-of-a-kind art initiative designed to bring the community together while creating unforgettable musical moments. This downtown activation provides artists with an exciting platform to showcase their talent and offers the public a chance to experience music in unexpected ways. The project aims to spread the joy of art and music, inviting people to experience the pianos as they explore downtown.

Interactive outdoor art installations like Painted Pianos enhance the vibrancy of a walkable downtown, engage community members, and promote the area to both residents and visitors.

Painted Piano Project Community DonorBe a Community Donor of the painted piano project. Artists and Volunteers transform everyday pianos into vibrant works of art. These playable instruments add creativity and music to downtown Walnut Creek throughout the spring and summer. Your company name will be listed on the website with a logo and link to your website and a listing on the printable map of the piano locations downtown. Sponsor a Piano Sponsor one of our 6 pianos. You will receive recognition with a custom plaque affixed to your piano and listing on the website as a piano sponsor. A team member will be in contact to complete your sponsorship and process payment.

Donate a PianoDonate your piano. This donation helps cover the costs associated with the pick-up, moving, storage and/or disposal of your piano. (most pianos are only used for one season) Only pianos located within Walnut Creek city limits will be considered for donation. Please email services@walnutcreekdowntown.com a photo of your piano. Along with the photo, include the age of the piano, make, last time the piano was tuned, and any repairs needed. These pianos will be on the streets and subject to weather so they should be in good repair. A team member will be in contact to complete your donation and process payment.
