    Since our chartering in 1990, our chapter has been committed to fostering academic excellence, leadership, and community service in Robeson County and Columbus County. Through our scholarship program, we continue our legacy of supporting promising students like you in achieving your educational aspirations.

    Over the past three decades, our chapter has made a lasting impact by awarding scholarships and organizing community-based initiatives that uplift and empower residents. From disaster relief efforts to voter education, leadership development, and health awareness programs, we remain committed to "Service to All Mankind."

    We are offering the followings scholarships:

    • Think HBCU Scholarship - Applicants have been accepted and plan to attend a Historically Black College or University. Grade Point Average 3.0 and higher.
    • Ivy Memorial Scholarship - Applicants have demonstrated outstanding achievement, leadership, and involvement in school, extra-curricular activities, and church and community. Grade Point Average 3.2 and higher.
    • Merit Scholarship - Applicants have demonstrated exceptional community involvement and presents a financial hardship. Grade Point Average 2.5 and higher.
    • Excel Award Scholarship - Applicants have demonstrated the potential to excel in college and has school and community involvement. Grade Point Average 2.5 to 3.0.
    • Book Award Scholarship - Applicants have been accepted to an accredited college or university and overall impressive application. Grade Point Average 2.5 or higher.

    ELIGIBILITY

    • Applicants must be a high school senior, graduating in Spring 2025, and attending a school in Robeson County or Columbus County
    • Applicants may be female, male, or non-binary  
    • ​​Applicant must be accepted to a 2-year Community College, 4-Year College or University, and show proof of enrollment before scholarship funds will be dispersed.

    REQUIRED SUPPORTING MATERIALS

    Essay: Applicants must submit a 400-word maximum, essay to be submitted with this application. The essay must share a personal description of yourself, highlighting the qualities that make you a strong candidate for this scholarship. Discuss the unique attributes and experiences that set you apart from other applicants. Additionally, explain how earning a college degree will contribute to your future goals and aspirations. 

    Recommendation Form: Applicants must submit the name and email of two (2) recommenders—one an academic reference and one a community reference.

    The academic reference can come from a Teacher, Counselor, or Administrator, who can speak to your work inside the classroom.

    The community reference must come from a community member, advisor, coach, mentor, or a similar person who can speak to your character and service outside of the classroom.

    Recommendations must be received by the deadline for the application to be considered.

    Offical Transcript: Applicants must provide the contact information of their school administrator or records office so the scholarship committee can request an official transcript on their behalf.

    Submit the name, email, and phone number of your school administrator or records office.

    Transcripts submitted by students will not be accepted. Ensure your school’s contact information is accurate to prevent delays. If your school has any questions, they can contact akasioscholarship@gmail.com.

      Go to your school administrator or records office and request your offical transcript to be submitted to the scholarship committee before the deadline. Provide the contact information of your school administrator or records office so the scholarship committee can request an official transcript on your behalf. Transcripts submitted by students will not be accepted.

      1. Request Offical Transcrpit: Please visit your school administrator or records office and request that your official transcript be submitted to the scholarship committee.They will receive a link to securely upload the transcript directly. Please ensure they are aware of this and submit it promptly.
      2. Provide School Contact Information: Submit the name, email, and phone number of your school administrator or records office.
      3. Scholarship Committee Request: Based on the information you provide, the scholarship committee will send a request for your official transcript.
      4. Transcript Submission: The school administrator or records office must send the official transcript by upload it using a secure link provided via email. Official transcript can also be submitted via email to akasioscholarship@gmail.com by the school administrator or records office.
