    Snack & Lunch Policy
Dear parents, we ask that when packing any snack or lunch for your child that will be consumed on campus Monday-Wednesday, that you please exclude all processed sugars including sugar based drinks like juice and soda. We know this can be an inconvenience, but we want to partner with you to  keep your child full of nutritious food while in our care. If an item in your child’s snack or lunch contains processed sugars, we will offer them an alternate snack we keep on hand, and send a reminder home with the snack.

    Sick Policy:
We ask that parents assist us by keeping sick children at home if they are experiencing:

    A fever 100 or over
Diarrhea, vomiting, or illness-related upset stomach
Thick or colored discharge from nose
Discharge from eyes, ears, and/or open sores.

It is not the responsibility of the teacher aid or Harbor House staff to administer medicine to children while on campus or participating in school related activities. You may leave an EpiPen at school for allergic emergencies with a permission slip completed and attached to your prescribed EpiPen box.

If you as a parent are sick or unable to aid in class due to an unforeseen circumstance, please work to find another parent to cover your subject or connect with student's teacher for last minute emergencies. If you miss a parent day due to illness please reschedule your day on our parent-aid sign-up site or reschedule with Harbor House directors.

If your child will not be attending Harbor House that day, please notify us through text or email.

    Vacation Policy:
Please notify Harbor House if you are planning a trip or vacation that will cause your student to miss co-op days. During your time away, it is the responsibility of each parent to ensure their parent aid days are covered. Parents may switch days with another parent, or ask another parent to cover their shift. If you are having a difficult time finding someone to cover your shift for a planned vacation, please connect with Brooke Courter and Bri Koval. • Parent Volunteer Agreement

    Dear parents,
We appreciate and value the time you spend aiding our teachers and students at Harbor House! To help us make the most of instructional time by minimizing disruptions and ensuring the most safe, fun and positive learning environment possible, please review the following agreements before arriving for your volunteer days.

As volunteers, we ask that you:

    • Arrive on time. When possible, please arrive 5 min before instructional time and check in with the teachers.
    • Remain with the class that you are aiding.
    • Be mindful of the learning environment, and ensure that the teacher is able to continue with instruction, and that your student, along with others, are able to be engaged in learning. The role of the volunteer is to support learning!
    • Consider younger siblings. We love the family unit to stay together and allow younger siblings to join in on your volunteer day. However, if you find it difficult to aid the teacher and engage with the students while your little one is around, we encourage you to find childcare for younger siblings on volunteer days.
    • Please refrain from using your cell phone in the classroom.
    • Help supervise during lunch at the park.
    • Take responsibility for getting coverage of your volunteer shift should you be unable to make it. If your shift is unable to be covered by other class parents, please contact Harbor House ASAP.  If you miss a parent-aid day due to illness or vacation and cannot get your shift covered by another parent, please reschedule your day on our parent aid sign-up site or reschedule with Harbor House directors.
