The Ohio River Basin (also known as a watershed) covers 205,000 square miles across 14 states that drain into the 981-mile Ohio River. 25 million people live in the Ohio River Basin, and this area is home to some of the highest freshwater biodiversity in the world. To celebrate this incredible region, the Ohio River Basin Alliance, the Pittsburgh Water Collaboratory, and the Thomas More University Biology Field Station are showcasing the “Biodiversity in the Basin” with a photo contest!
