• Dear Inter-Class Council Applicant:

We are excited about your interest in joining Inter-Class Council for the upcoming year. Inter-Class Council serves the Wheaton College campus as a voice and force to form relationships amongst the student body. Inter-Class Council members, along with the organization’s chief advisor, will plan and hold events dedicated to fostering school spirit and bridging the gap between the student body and the campus.

Next year’s Inter-Class Council will consist of 9 positions: freshman, sophomore, junior, and senior co-presidents in addition to a chairperson for the organization. Co-presidents will ideally apply together in pairs. Each applicant will need to submit their own individual application.

All information received both in your application and from references is kept private. The application consists of the application form and two references (one from a faculty or staff member and one from a peer). Send your references this form (open, and then copy and paste for your references). Applications will be accepted on a rolling basis until all positions are filled.

If you have any questions regarding this application process, please feel free to contact us; we would love to talk with you.

    Sincerely,

    Crystal Cartwright
    Inter-Class Council Advisor

In applying for this student leadership position with Student Government Association, I agree without reservation to abide by the expectations  of this organization, which are communicated in the job description, internal operation manual/handbook, and the student programming guide, and to reaffirm my commitment to Wheaton College and our  Community Covenant. I understand that SGA is  a part of Wheaton College and seeks to serve  Christ and advance His Kingdom. As a student leader, I will honor my academic responsibilities first and leadership activities second.  I believe that we are a community bound together as brothers and sisters in Christ. Therefore, I commit myself to my colleagues in SGA,  by  seeking to love each one,  and to be a Christ-like example to them as well as to the students SGA serves.

I understand that I will not be permitted  to serve if I am on academic probation, disciplinary probation or if my cumulative GPA falls below 2.5. I understand that I may not be able to serve if I am on chapel probation. Students on chapel probation will require permission from a Student Development Dean to serve.  I agree to voluntarily resign my position if I am or later become subject to academic, disciplinary, or chapel probation.

I also acknowledge that a student must also be cleared to serve as a student leader by various departments on campus, including: the Chaplain’s Office, Residence Life/Student Conduct, Registrar’s Office, Equity & Title IX, Student Care Services, and Student Wellness.  I agree to cooperate in any process initiated by these offices resulting from information arising out of this clearance process.

By signing and dating below, I am affirming that I meet the above requirements and give permission for the free exchange of information between representatives from all the offices listed above, in relation to SGA for verification purposes.

I understand signing this authorization is voluntary, and that refusing to sign this form does not stop disclosure of information that is otherwise permitted by Federal law (FERPA) with or without my specific authorization, consent, or permission.

This authorization will remain active for 12 months from the date of signing. I understand that I may revoke this authorization at any time by contacting student.engagement@wheaton.edu. I also understand that if I choose to revoke  this authorization,  I may negatively impact my  eligibility to be selected or continue to serve as a student leader at Wheaton College.
