We are excited to share with you the Princeton FFA Alumni organization- to provide opportunities to the Princeton FFA members while also supporting our local ag teacher and program as needed.
Things we do throughout the year:
1. Meet to discuss activities the FFA members have been involved in and how the community can help.
2. Help prepare and/or transport members of the chapter to contests and events when needed.
3. Sell porkchop and porkburger meals at a high school basketball game to raise funds for student scholarships.
4. Provide college scholarships to those active FFA members pursuing a degree after high school.
5. Attend the FFA banquet to show support for future ag leaders.
How this program benefits our local students on the state level: Because our organization is in place, our students are eligible to apply for scholarships to attend conferences and conventions through the Illinois FFA Alumni Association. In years to come, we will be able to send a student to FFA Leadership Camp for FREE and another student to the Ground Zero Conference for FREE! We hope to use these programs in the future to continue to send our students to conferences and events to further develop their leadership skills.
How do we make this happen? WE NEED YOU! Not only are our kids talented, but so are their parents, family and friends in the Princeton and surrounding community. Your involvement can vary from providing supplies and materials for events to jumping in with both feet. We don't want to make this "one more thing" you have to do and promise to use your time wisely.
Representatives of the Alumni and current students will be at the basketball game, Friday February 14th. Be sure to come and talk to us if you have questions!
