Have you ever had a friend, co-worker, or family member express thoughts of suicide? Has one of your employees or co-workers taken their own life or ever attempted to? What systems and support did your firm have in place to manage workplace impacts and employee morale? Did you bring counselors on site to debrief with your employees about the incident? Did you know where to send your employees for the critical help they needed after a tragedy?
We encourage you to join us for an engaging conversation with Mr. Nelson, a Licensed Mental Health Counselor and Certified Professional in Human Resources and Employee Assistance Programs. You will learn:
- How to know when someone is struggling with mental health, including latent warning signs
- How to initiate sensitive conversations about mental health
- What managers can do to save lives
- What human resources can do to save lives
- How employer assistance programs (EAPs) can support your employees
- “Dos and Don’ts” when faced with mental health challenges
All members, regardless of position with your firm, are encouraged to attend.
In addition to Mr. Nelson’s presentation, Raffi Elchemmas, MCAA National Safety and Health Director, will discuss what mental health resources MCAA has available to all of you as members and what initiatives MCAA is working on with the UA in this space. Finally, MCAWW will be handing out its Annual Safety Excellence Awards for 2024 performance.
Please RSVP by April 7th.
