Legislate Protections for Political Beliefs in Public Education and Public Sector

We, like too many parents across the country, have become deeply concerned about the perceived decline in our education system and the political polarization it's fostering. Our children, whom we entrust to these institutions, are being subjected to what feels like a systematic exertion of undue influence over their political beliefs. This not only stands against the democratic values our nation upholds but also compromises the integrity of our education system. The concern extends to teachers, many of whom also face discrimination or penalties on the basis of their political beliefs. A 2020 survey conducted by the Cato Institute revealed that 62% of Americans believe the current political climate prevents them from saying what they believe due to fear of retaliation or harsh criticism (Cato Institute, 2020). In light of this, we are pushing for a legislation that protects the political beliefs of both students and teachers in public education establishments and public sector.Not only does this supports freedom of thought and belief, but it also promotes a healthy and productive environment where all beliefs are respected and debate is encouraged without fear of repercussions.
