BATS Winter Season covers July, August, and September. The last 3 weeks of September 2025 are booked out for Tahi Festival and NZYIF.

Looking for dates that are sooner? We've had some space become available between 17th March and 3rd May, fill out this form and let us know what dates you are interested in using.

The deadline for pitching a remount of your Fringe show is 5pm Friday 28th February, 2025

The deadline for submissions for Winter Pitches is 5pm Sunday 4th May, 2025

BATS welcomes work from first time theatre-makers through to established artists that are returning to BATS to experiment and develop new work. We are accepting submissions for any and all types of live art to present in any of our theatre spaces - The Stage, The Dome, The Studio and The Pit Gallery. Our standard seasons run for 5 nights, however we are open to programming longer and shorter seasons (4 nights - 10 nights).

Got an idea for something different? Exhibition in our Pit Gallery Space? Wānanga? Activation? You can also use this form, just fill out as much detail as possible/relevant.

BATS' ticketing has changed since Monday 1st April, 2024. This came after audiences surveying and artist feedback. Please create your budgets based on these options! Details are below:

Patrons are not asked for proof of income etc

Show expenditure and projected income. We recommend you calculate based on 40% houses (tickets sold). BATS runs by a profit-share model, where BATS takes 20% of the total box office income at the end of your season rather than charge a venue hire fee
