Join us for a special Kadomatsu making event. Merle Grybowski will present the cultural and historical contexts of kadomatsu. She organized the first Temari Kadomatsu fundraiser in 1985. Workshop attendees will tie together three angled-cut bamboo stalks, add shore pine and noshi, a folded paper decoration designed by Morris Umeno. Volunteers will help with rope tying and placement of the pine.
The kadomatsu you make in this class will help you welcome 2026!
