Important: Extended-duration requests are not being accepted for the Canon R6 camera or the Sony Z90 videocamera. These items may only be checked out for the standard loan period and renewed if there is no waitlist.

Requests that exceed 10 business days require the administration office's approval and are unlikely to be approved. 

Both extended durations and advanced equipment require approval from a College of Journalism and Mass Communications faculty member.

Extended-duration requests: you must identify a faculty member who is familiar with and able to confirm that your request is for a legitimate academic purpose, above and beyond normal coursework. 

If your request is for work in an experience lab, select your experience lab professor. 

Advanced equipment requests: you must identify a faculty member who has personal knowledge of your ability to use all requested equipment and will attest that you can safely use the equipment without breaking it.

Approval Process

By submitting this form you are attesting that this request complies with all checkout room rules, have a legitimate academic need for this equipment and can utilize all requested equipment without damaging it.

After you submit this request, it will route to the faculty member(s) you selected for review and approval. If they approve, it will route to the CoJMC checkout room manager for review and approval. 

You will be notified by email of the outcome of the review. If approved, you will be required to present the approval email to the CoJMC Checkout Room to proceed with the checkout.
