2026 Camp Themes
Horse Crazy Kids is open to all kids ages 6 and older regardless of experience.
- June 8-11, Pony Pals: Activities include making snacks and enrichment games for our horses, learning how massage and stretch helps our four legged friends, how and why we bathe horses, and so much more.
- June 15-18, Junior Equine Vet: Learn equine first aid, how to identify a well horse vs one that is not feeling well. Gain hands-on experience taking TPR, putting on standing wraps, and how to wrap a hoof.
- July 6-9, Cowgirl/boy Up: Dress up like a cowgirl/boy, learn how to barrel race, tackle trail obstacle courses, and ride in a mock round up!
- August 3-6, Medieval Week: Activities include Pool Noodle Joust, Tic Tac Toe on horseback, Shrinking Gate course, and dress up as a knight or prince/princess!
Camp runs from 8AM to 2:30 PM Monday through Thursday.
Eventing Workshop, July 13-15
For our more experienced riders we are offering a 3-day intensive workshop. Horsemaship topics to be covered are equine and rider fitness, how to care for your equine partner when traveling, how to braid, and how to memorize your dressage and jump patterns. Mounted activities will include practicing your dressage patterns, finding the rythym and flow over your stadium course, and work on gaining confidence outside of the ring. Included in the price are two dressage patterns at Harmony's Twilight Dressage Show Wednesday, July 15.
Our Eventing Workshop runs 8-4 on Monday and Tuesday and 8-6 on Wednesday. Riders are expected to already be proficcient at walk, trot, and over groundpoles and have at least been introduced to the canter. Safety vests are required when out in the field, if you do not have one, HEC has some you may borrow.
Cost: $400, includes 2 classes at the Twilight Dressage show on Wednesday evening. Participants must wear long pants, sturdy boots, half-chaps/tall boots, ASTM/SEI approved safety helmet when mounted. Shorts are permitted when not mounted. Please bring a refillable water bottle, snacks, and lunch. Sunscreen, sunglasses, and hat with a brim are recommended.
