  • How the Score is Calculated:

    • There are 12 questions.
    • The minimum possible score is 12 (all D responses).
    • The maximum possible score is 48 (all A responses).
    • The total score helps determine which category the nonprofit falls into.

    42 – 48

    🌟 Thriving Culture The organization has a strong internal culture, clear communication, and high morale. There may be some room for improvement, but overall, employees feel valued, respected, and heard.
    34 – 41 ✅ Functional but Needs Strengthening The culture is mostly healthy, but there are some communication gaps or leadership inconsistencies that could cause long-term challenges. Addressing these now will prevent larger issues.
    24– 33 ⚠️ Struggling Culture There are clear signs of miscommunication, staff disengagement, and leadership gaps. Without intervention, morale and retention could worsen, impacting the nonprofit’s mission.
    12 – 23 🚨Toxic or At-Risk Culture There are serious cultural and communication issues affecting morale, productivity, and possibly even retention. Without immediate action, the nonprofit risks staff burnout, turnover, and operational instability.

     

     

  • 🌟 Thriving Culture (42-48 points)
    ✅ Encourage continued leadership development and proactive communication strategies to sustain success.
    ✅ Consider small improvements based on the lowest-scoring areas.


    ✨ Functional but Needs Strengthening (34-41 points)
    🔹 Identify which specific areas need improvement (e.g., leadership modeling, generational collaboration).
    🔹 Provide workshops or structured discussions to improve weak areas before they escalate.


    ⚠️ Struggling Culture (24-33 points)
    🚨 Conduct a deeper internal audit to uncover specific causes of disengagement and misalignment.
    🚨 Implement leadership coaching, structured communication strategies, and team-building initiatives.


    🚨 Toxic or At-Risk Culture (12-23 points)
    ❌ Immediate intervention is needed. The organization is at high risk for turnover, low morale, and conflict.
    ❌ Recommend a full culture reset, leadership intervention, and structured internal communication overhaul.
