  • RVAC Scholarship Application for the 2024 - 2025 school year.

  • Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., a public service organization, was founded in 1913 at Howard University in Washington D.C.   Since 1913, Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. has been providing service and support to local communities, leading the dialogue on public policy issues, supporting quality education, providing scholarships, sponsoring artistic innovations, creating positive opportunities for the development of our youth and providing new projects to stimulate current and future economic growth.

     As an organization of over 350,000 college-educated women, we remain focused on our commitment to sisterhood, scholarship and service.  We are organized in over 1000 chapters throughout the United States, including Alaska and Hawaii.  We also have chapters in Arabian Gulf, Bermuda, the Bahamas, Germany, London, Seoul, Tokyo, Okinawa, Jamaica, St. Thomas and St. Croix.  The Rancocas Valley Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. which serves the greater Rancocas Valley will be awarding this scholarship.

    The Rancocas Valley Alumnae Chapter Scholarship Fund for Black Female Students is designed to support high-school aged Black female seniors who are planning to matriculate into a four-year university.  The Committee is seeking candidates who have demonstrated leadership ability, a commitment to community service and academic excellence.  Applicants must reside in Burlington County. 

  • ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS AND SELECTION PROCESS

    1. The following will be considered:

      Scholastic Achievement: Grade Point Average

      Class Rank 

      S.A.T. and /or A.C.T. scores (Score submission is optional )

      Demonstrated community service activity

      Demonstrated leadership ability as evidenced by positions held or projects developed

      Financial Need

    2. The Scholarship Committee will review all applications received and then invite selected candidates to participate in an interview.

    3. Successful applicants will be notified by the Scholarship Committee no later than May 15, 2025.

    4. The recipient of the scholarship must matriculate at a four-year accredited institution in September 2025.

  • CONDITIONS OF SCHOLARSHIP AWARDS

    • The selected candidate will be awarded a scholarship in the amount of $4,000 to be disbursed over a four (4) year period.
    • The recipient will submit, to the Scholarship Committee, official proof of enrollment as a full-time (12 credit hours) student at an accredited institution of higher learning prior to disbursement of all checks during the four (4) year period after the first year AND an official transcript must be submitted each year by September 30.
    • The recipient must maintain at least a 2.5 G.P.A. throughout the four (4) years or risk forfeiture of the scholarship.
    • If the recipient is unable to return to college because of illness, the scholarship will be held for two years. If the recipient cannot be located, the scholarship will be held for only one year after which the scholarship will be forfeited.
    • All checks will be made payable to the recipient and mailed directly to the recipient when official proof of enrollment and G.P.A. has been received by the Scholarship Committee.
