CISV Austin San Antonio
SCHOLARSHIP ASSISTANCE GUIDELINES
CISV Austin San Antonio provides scholarships to ensure that the CISV experience is accessible to all qualified participants regardless of financial situation. Scholarship awards are limited, and they are dependent upon the CISV funds available and the degree of need among applicants in any given year. Financial assistance will be based on documented need with priority given to individuals who have made significant contributions to the chapter. Applications are received and reviewed in strict confidence, and applicants may be required to meet with the Scholarship Committee to provide additional information.
CISV program costs include participation fees, travel expenses, insurance, and emergency money. These costs are itemized and estimated annually in each program application. In addition to the incidental expenses related to participating in the program, all program costs which are not offset by scholarship assistance will be the responsibility of the participating family. Any unused scholarship money awarded must be refunded to the CISV Austin San Antonio Chapter.
After the Scholarship Committee has reviewed the applications and decisions have been made by the Executive Committee, the applicants will be notified. Approved applications will also be forwarded to the National CISV Scholarship Committee for possible additional award.
ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA FOR SCHOLARSHIP ASSISTANCE:
- Complete the application and submit to Scholarship Committee
- Be accepted as a delegate in the program according to established CISV selection criteria;
- Volunteer to work in support of CISV during the year following the scholarship award.
- Pay remainder of program costs not funded by scholarship including but not limited to: airfare, spending money, emergency money, host/staff gifts, culture activity supplies.
The Austin San Antonio CISV Board reserves the right to modify this policy as necessary at any time.
