  • Summer Camp 2025 Registration Form

  • Summer is coming, and Assiniboine Park is ready to offer something different! This year, we offer a variety of weeklong day camps that will have children exploring and playing throughout the Park.

We strive to engage, inspire, and empower everyone that attends and works or volunteers at Camp Assiniboine Park. These core values will help keep us stay afloat all summer. Our camps offer the perfect chances to be outdoors and to experience nature with great staff and fun activities. While our camps may specify and focus upon a specific facility, please note that each camp will explore other parts of Assiniboine Park and make use of the Park’s many features and facilities.

Summer Zoo Camp is designed for children age 6 to 13. Campers will be organized into three age groups with activities tailored to be age-appropriate and encourage positive social interactions.

Explorers (age 6-7) - Focus on animal needs and what we all share in common
Jr. Keeper (age 8-10) - Focus on caring for animals and ourselves
Jr. Researcher (age 11-13) - Focus on helping animals in the wild and at the zoo

Summer Leaf Camp is designed for children age 9-13. A focus on our connection to plants and sustainbiliy will guide us in our activities and creating yummy treats.

  • Summer Camp Themes

Leaf Camp July Theme: Viva la Local (Long Live Local)

Let’s explore our home-grown roots! We’ll be eating our way through what grows here in Manitoba, plus the benefits and challenges that come with it. Campers will enjoy tasty seasonal snacks.

This camp does not visit the Zoo however, we will visit other parts of Assiniboine Park.

Leaf Camp August Theme: Nature’s Pantry

Nature is full of nourishment, from what we eat to fuel ourselves, to the native herbs and remedies we use to support our health. Campers will discover the importance of plants and what they have to offer others. We will create, communicate, and taste our way through The Leaf’s plant cupboard.

This camp does not visit the Zoo however, we will visit other parts of Assiniboine Park.

Zoo Camp July Theme: Wild Jobs

Ever wonder how we take care of the animals at the Zoo or keep the Park looking beautiful? Wonder no more! Campers will step into our world and through activities and observations, learn from staff on what goes into caring for our space and the bigger contributions we make to the Park and Zoo world.

This camp does not visit the Leaf however, we will visit other parts of Assiniboine Park.

Zoo Camp August Theme: Tracks and Traces

Discover the signs of nature at Assiniboine Park and Zoo! Campers will be searching for signs of wildlife and animal communication and learning along the way. We’ll examine real animal artifacts and learn about how local wildlife has evolutionarily adapted to catch prey and escape predators.

This camp does not visit the Leaf however, we will visit other parts of Assiniboine Park.
