The Choreographer's Cup, hosted at Dance Educators Collective on Saturday, August 30, 2025, is an outstanding competition and showcase designed to highlight the talent of both emerging and established choreographers in the dance industry. Choreographers will have the opportunity to participate at this summer's Choreographer's Cup by submitting an application at the button below and providing links to their work. Following the submission deadline, choreographer finalists will be chosen to travel to Nashville for the Dance Educators Collective and showcase their pieces at the Choreographers Cup! Prizes will be awarded to first, second and third place, making it not only a celebration of artistic excellence, but also a significant career achievement for choreographers! All applications are due by May 1st 2025. Invitees will be notified by May 15th that they will be showcasing their work in the Choreograhers Cup.
CRITERIA

1. Submissions may encompass any dance style.
2. Each piece must feature a minimum of seven dancers and a maximum of twenty-five dancers.
3. The duration of each performance must not exceed five minutes.
4. All dancers featured must be aged fifteen years or older.
5. A non-refundable submission fee of $50 is required from the choreographer at the time of application.
6. Applications and accompanying works must be submitted no later than May 1, 2025.

7. Finalists will be selected from the pool of submissions following the submission deadline.
8. Please be advised that finalists participating in the Choreographers Cup in Nashville will be responsible for their own travel and accommodation expenses.

Please provide a link to your work (minimum of one video of a piece you choreographed) which best showcases your choreography. DEC's independent panel will review your work and determine if an invite will be issued to enter the Choreographers Cup at Dance Educators Collective.
