Geothermal Rising has opened its Call for Ideas for the 2025 Geothermal Rising Conference (GRC) to be held at the Peppermill Resort, Reno, Nevada, October 26 - 29, 2025. We are accepting proposals for potential Panels and Workshops for next year’s meeting. Submissions should be organized and led by two (2) people, a Chair and Co-chair. Successful Chairs will be expected to assist the Technical Program Chair as follows:
Panel Chairs will develop panel topic and structure, recruit panelists and act as onsite panel moderator.
Workshop Chairs will develop workshop topic, structure and learning objectives; recruit workshop leaders; and, act as onsite workshop moderator and emcee.
Session Title: Session proposals must include an informative title (20-300 characters, not including spaces) and entered in title case.
Session Types:
Panel - All panels are two hours and are focused on a single geothermal topic. Panels typically consist of 3-5 subject matter experts and 1 moderator. Although not required, panels often include brief presentations by participating panelists followed by in-depth discussions/audience Q&A.
Workshop - Workshops vary in duration from 1/2 day to up to 2 full days. Workshops are structured as an intensive deep-dive into a technical topic. A successful workshop will have an engaging and interactive curriculum with clearly defined learning objectives. Workshops may be designed using a single subject matter expert instructor or a group of experts each focusing on a section of the course.
Program chairs will review all submissions for potential inclusion in the 2025 GRC program. Submissions will be judged based on their technical merit and quality of the topical description. Similar topics may be combined and submissions may be reassigned to a different session type.
