  • Navigating galleries can be a daunting task for many artists, especially early in their careers. In this hands-on workshop, students will gain invaluable insight into the process of approaching and submitting to galleries, with an emphasis on strategies for creating compelling submissions and writing. Knowing where and how to start is crucial, and this workshop will guide you through the essential steps to ensure your work stands out.

There’s no shortage of opportunities in New England for artists at all career stages from open calls to rolling solo exhibition proposals. The workshop will cover how to find the right opportunity, how to best document your work for submission, write an appealing artist statement, understand gallery etiquette and contracts, and remove barriers to give artists the confidence to submit and exhibit.

The workshop will feature a mix of written exercises and interactive discussions, providing plenty of opportunities to collaborate with fellow artists, receive constructive feedback, and refine your submission materials. Whether you are new to the gallery scene or looking to strengthen your professional presence, this workshop offers the tools and support you need to confidently navigate the process.

Free to the larger ABC community, Art at French & New England College community.
