  • Charter for Working Groups Members

To formalize and value members' participation.
  • Purpose of the Charter

This Charter aims to formalize and value the constitution of working groups under Cerise+SPTF Sustainable Outcomes Management (SOM) Project.

The Charter identifies the working group’s themes and roles, terms of participation, and the ethical principles shared by the members.

The Charter aims to value the work of working groups’ participants.

Finally, this Charter will help in positioning the SOM Project among outcomes measurement and management initiatives.

  • Project description

The Sustainable Outcomes Management (SOM) Project supports and equips inclusive finance and agricultural organizations in Africa, Asia, Central Europe and Latin America, to assess changes on their beneficiaries, manage social and environmental risks, and strengthen practices for positive impact. By adopting these approaches, organizations can make informed decisions, report transparently and align their strategies with the targets of the Sustainable Development Goals.

  • Working groups themes & roles

The working groups are bodies to co-create, exchange, and inform about the project advancement. Members are both partners and beneficiaries of the project. They are involved in carrying out support activities with field partners and capitalizing on results.

The exchange of experiences and approaches with SOM Project’s members will ultimately allow us to capitalize on French and international expertise on the valuation of existing and new data to measure the contribution to the SDGs.

The working groups can also support the experimental work of its members, either through projects funded by investors and partners, or through the co-financing proposed by AFD's CSO Initiatives Mechanism. These funding facilities are governed by specific contracts.

  • Terms of participation

The SOM Project is made up of volunteer members from Cerise and SPTF working groups and new partners.

The SOM Project is set up for two years (2025-2026), renewable if members see the need and if Cerise+SPTF has the means.

Cerise+SPTF oversees animating and coordinating the SOM Project.

Members’ participation is voluntary and not billable.

The working groups meet either virtually or in-person. The meetings are scheduled by Cerise+SPTF – or by nominated co-leaders. The working group meetings are the places to define working modalities and to share progress and feedback.

In parallel to the meetings, members are encouraged to communicate about their activities in line with SOM Project's objectives, to make actions visible and to facilitate information sharing and capitalization.

  • Values and ethical principles

Members fully recognize themselves in the values of the SOM Project:

Exchange Make easier experience and knowledge sharing, and collective reflection.
Innovation Pushing the boundaries of social performance management to better measure results and ensure a better impact on beneficiaries.
Solidarity Work closely with diverse partners, from North and South, who mutually enrich each other from their differences.
Respect Collaborate with esteem and consideration, and with a concern for fairness and balance, regardless of the geographical origin of the members.

Members undertake to work together on this collaborative project for mutual learning, ensuring transparency on each other's position and constructive cooperation over time.

Each member is encouraged to nominate one or more competent representative(s), who should be committed to the themes and strategic axes of the SOM Project.
