The Jahan Farzam Memorial Scholarship was established to honor the memory of Jahan Farzam, one of Camp Chris Williams best champions. He was a cheerleader and unwavering supporter of Camp Chris. For over 20 years, Jahan shared and demonstrated his love of Camp Chris campers, staff, and its mission. Jahan has been a part of the Camp Chris family since before he could drive, and held numerous roles after being a camp alumni.
Each year, two full scholarships will be awarded to allow campers to attend Camp Chris. To be considered for the Scholarship, applicants will need to submit artwork, (be creative!) video or an essay of what Camp Chris means to them and why they want to attend. They can be returning or new campers.
Awarding of the Jahan Farzam Memorial Scholarship is contingent on Camper being eligible to attend and registered for camp before the deadline to apply.
How to Apply:
Michigan Coalition for Deaf, Hard of Hearing and DeafBlind People has transitioned to an online application and camper registration process. Applications can be completed using this app to upload files.
Your complete application, including all attachments, can be submitted electronically in the app or be sent via email to campchris@michdhh.org with the name of the scholarship in the subject line of your email. Deadline for filing is May 15 each year. Incomplete or late applications will not be considered.
Your application will be reviewed by members of the Scholarship Committee. Selection will be based on a camper’s commitment to Camp Chris.
