  • HOLD HARMLESS AGREEMENT

    All participants of the Veterans Day Parade must agree to, sign and date this agreement. Entries not signed will be returned.
  • The undersigned do hereby grant to the Veterans Day Parade, The West Richland Area Chamber of Commerce, (WRACC) and its employees and agents, the right to photograph, record and/or otherwise reproduce my likeness and my name in, and in connection with the exhibition, theatrically, electronically or otherwise, of any photographs, motion pictures, audio recording and television tapes in which the same way may be used or incorporated, and also in the advertising, publicizing or exploitation of any such photographs, motion pictures, or television tapes and in any printed matter connected with the usage of, but not limited to television or theatrical exposure. I hereby certify and represent that I have read the foregoing and fully understand the meaning and effect thereof. INSURANCE: All vehicles must meet Washington State Statute (RCW) automobile insurance coverage requirements. The Undersigned acknowledges and understands that NO insurance coverage is provided by the Veterans Day Parade or WRACC. ENTRY AND ADVERTISING RELEASE: In consideration of this entry, participants agree to permit the Veterans Day Parade and WRACC the use of their names and pictures for publicity, advertising and commercial purposes (including newspaper, magazines, radio and television) before, during and after the event and do hereby relinquish any rights whatsoever to any photos taken in connections with the event and give permission to publish or sell or other use of said photographs to the Veterans Day Parade and WRACC. All publicity and advertising rights are hereby reserved by the Veterans Day Parade and WRACC. OPERATION: Event management reserves the right to restrict vendors to acceptable behavior during any and all events/activities of the Veterans Day Parade and WRACC. Loud sound systems, or any other reasonsa participant, their appearance or conduct is deemed objectionable by event management, will subject participant to be evicted from the premises. This reservation includes persons, things, conduct, printed matter, or any act or item of poor character which the management considers objectionable to the event's well-being. In the case of any eviction or restriction, the Veterans Day Parade and WRACC will NOT refund vendor fees. LIABILITY: In consideration of the acceptance of the right to participate, vendors, entrants, participants, and spectators, by execution of this entry form, release and discharge the Veterans Day Parade and WRACC, the State of Washington, Benton County, the City of West Richland, the West Richland Area Chamber, directors, trustees, employees, agents, representatives, volunteers, and servants, and anyone else connected with the management or presentation of the Veterans Day Parade and WRACC of and from any and all known damages, injuries, losses, judgments, and/or claims from any cause whatsoever that may be suffered by entrant's person or property. Further, each entrant expressly agrees, to the extent permitted by law, to indemnity and hold harmless all of the foregoing entities, firms, persons, and bodies, of an from any and all liability occasioned by or resulting from the conduct of entrants or any participants under the direction or control of entrants. Entrants agree that participation in any contest, games, or activity may be limited. Entrants must be 18 years of age or have signed parent or legal guardian permission. I have read this application and agree to all conditions to enter in the Veterans Day Parade and WRACC and to the rules governing the event as set forth on this form and to observe all rules and decisions of event management.

  • REQUIREMENTS

  • Floats are not to exceed 13 1/2 feet in height or 16 feet in width. Maximum length will be 60 feet per unit and a Clearance to the ground from the frame will be a minimum of 8 inches. The float must be able to make turns at street intersections.

    1. Entries must furnish drivers for their own floats.

  • EQUESTRIANUNIT REQUIREMENTS

  • 1. Eachrider or group must provide its own cleanup unit.

    2. Equestrianunits may debark from their trailer when the unit's clean-up crew is on site.

    3. Any rider, regardless of age, showing inability to control their animal will be removed from the parade at the parade Marshal's discretion.

  • MARCHING BAND & DRILL UNIT REQUIREMENTS

  • 1. A performance of no more than 45 seconds will be allowed during judging.

    2. If for any reason a gap of greater than 50 feet is created, bands must increase their pace to close the gap. You will not be askedto increase pace in front of judges.

  • RULES AND REGULATIONS

    1. Entries must be approved by the West Richland Area Chamber of Commerce's Veterans Day Parade Committee. Entries will not be accepted from individuals, groups or organizations whose mission, agenda, or message is contradictory to the organizational mandate of the United States Armed Forces and federal law under which it operates.
    2. Entries must adhere to all applicable rules and regulations, and follow all instructions from law enforcement and parade officials. The Parade Committee reserves the right to remove any entrant from the parade at any time.
    3. No solicitation/personal advertisements/items may be handed out or thrown along the parade route.
    4. All units are required to have some form of patriotic decoration and all narratives must include some reference to the military or Armed Forces Day. Remember this is a celebration for those who have served in our Armed Forces.
    5. No items may be sold along the parade route. Offenders will be removed from the parade route immediately.
    6. Parade participants may not mingle with or accost parade route spectators.
    7. Alcoholic beverages are forbidden on any float, in any vehicle or on the person of any participant. Participants consuming alcohol prior to or during the parade will be removed from the lineup.
    8. Floats or other units advocating, opposing or depicting any political, social issues or endorsing candidates will not be authorized to participate in the parade.
    9. Participants under the age of 12 must be accompanied by an adult.
    10. Each parade entry is fully responsible for providing adequate vehicle insurance coverage and signing the Hold Harmless Agreement.
    11. Please stay on street, sidewalk or in park.
    12. Discharge of live firearms is prohibited. Refer to city ordinance 09.36.020.
