Artist Residency Application
This opportunity provides one artist per year with dedicated studio space and comprehensive support, culminating in a public gallery exhibit that highlights the artist’s unique vision. The residency includes support and funding for: a working studio at Art Works in Richmond, VA, art materials, an exhibit, and professional development.
Requirements:
This residency is open to visual artists. Artist must spend 20 hours per week in the studio. Heavy machinery, aerosols, and some strong chemicals may be prohibitive. Artist will have a public exhibit and reception at the end of the residency showcasing the artist's work.

Our mission is to bridge the gap for emerging artists, offering them the resources needed to advance their careers while bringing exhibits to the Central Virginia community that expand viewpoints and lift the voices of historically underrepresented or marginalized communities.

By submitting this form, you agree to allow RVA Thriving Artists and Art Works to display, on our website, the artwork that you submit. And you agree to allow us to use your artwork for promotional purposes for the exhibit, on social media and other platforms as needed. The gallery takes every precaution to protect entries from damage and loss; however the work is not insured by the art center. The artwork does not need to be for sale, but if artwork is for sale the gallery will retain 25% commission.
