Board of Directors Election
Candidates for 2025

Brian Stives
I am retired Air Force (LtCol) with a Master’s Degree in business. I have been on the Board for the last 13 years, 11 of those as Chairman. My education and years of leadership experience have been incredibly beneficial in that role.
In the upcoming Board elections, I bring one major contribution, experience. I am all about new blood, and new ideas, but experience is required to keep those ideas moving forward and implementing them within the guidelines of our bylaws, covenants, and Texas state law.
I started this journey with two simple goals. Transparency and financial stability, and we accomplished those goals years ago. Transparency was immediate, all business is conducted in open forum. We have had ONE special closed meeting in my years as Chairman. I changed our approach to budgeting and emphasized responsible spending by the staff. Our budget, which used to run in the red at the end of EVERY year, has not seen red in over a decade.
I love this community, raised my kids here, and now I look forward to bringing grand babies around. Having a safe, stable environment with many activities is critical, for my family and yours. We have made our events better, we have built a new park, and I am proud to have increased scholarship opportunities for our GNW graduates. These are just a few examples of things we have accomplished to increase the sense of “community” in our neighborhood.
A vote for me keeps the GNW moving forward!

Elias Ackerman
I am running for the Board of Directors of The Great Northwest CIA, because I am deeply invested in the well-being and success of our community. As a homeowner, I understand the importance of maintaining property values, fostering a strong sense of neighborhood, and ensuring that our community remains a great place to live for everyone.
I believe in transparency, fiscal responsibility, and fair decision-making that prioritizes the best interests of all residents. My goal is to continue improving communication between the board and homeowners, address concerns efficiently, and work collaboratively to enhance our shared spaces and amenities.
With a proactive and solutions-oriented approach, I will advocate responsible budgeting, thoughtful community improvements, and policies that reflect the needs of our diverse residents. I look forward to the opportunity to serve and make a positive impact on our neighborhood
Mark Solis
My name is Mark Solis and have proudly called the Great Northwest Community my home since 2004. My wife and I have raised our two children here, and over the years we have actively participated in neighborhood events and enjoyed the many amenities our community has to offer. This involvement has given me a strong understanding of how our HOA operates and the procedures that keep it running.
Professionally, I have spent my career in the corporate world, holding roles as a bank manager, project manager, and now a security engineer at Rocket Software. For the past six years I have worked remotely, which has allowed me to stay engaged with my neighborhood and keep a close watch on our street’s activity. Having attended HOA meetings in the past, I understand the challenges and responsibilities that come with board leadership.
I am passionate about protecting values and ensuring the safety of our neighborhood. If elected, I will work to improve communication between the board and residents, promote responsible fiscal management, and advocate for initiatives that enhance security and maintain the quality of our community.
I would be honored to serve on the Great Northwest Board of Directors and help make decisions that benefit all homeowners. I appreciate your time and consideration.
