BEAM Venture Chapter Leadership Roles & Parent Committees Overview
1. Core Team
- Chapter Advisor:
- Provide oversight and ensure the chapter operates in alignment with BEAM HQ’s mission, Masjid, policies, and values.
- Liaison between BEAM HQ and the local chapter and Masjid.
- Support Chapter Mentor and Parent Chair, BPA specialist in resolving challenges.
- Time Commitment: 4–5 hours per week.
- Parent Chair
- Mobilize parents, oversee Parent Committees, and build a supportive environment. Represent the parent body in the Core Team.
- Coordinate all Parent Committees.
- Time Commitment: 3–4 hours per week.
- Chapter Mentor (Main Teacher)
- Deliver BEAM’s curriculum and guide students in entrepreneurship, leadership, and faith development.
- Lead student teams in projects and competitions.
- Work with Assistant Mentor and BPA Specialist to align support.
- Time Commitment: 4-5 hours per week.
- Assistant Mentor
- Support Chapter Mentor in teaching and project guidance. Coordinate guest speakers, startup mentors, and specialist coaches. Ensure mentor-student sessions are scheduled and tracked.
- Track weekly attendance and report to Core Team.
- Ensure students follow the Student Handbook and Code of Conduct. Monitor student leadership roles and provide reminders/guidance.
- Time Commitment: 3–4 hours per week.
- BPA Specialist
- Manage BPA competitions (prep, deadlines, logistics).
- Ensure student teams align with national BPA standards.
- Work with Mentor and Assistant Mentor to support BPA projects.
- Time Commitment: 3 – 4 hours per week.
2. Parent Committees
A. Marketing & Communications
- Marketing Coordinator – Designs flyers and campaigns.
- Social Media Manager – Runs chapter’s social media.
- Photography/Videography Lead – Documents events.
- Communications Coordinator – Liaison with masjid, schools, and organizations.
B. Grants & Fundraising
- Fundraising Dinner Planner – Organizes annual events.
- Youth Fundraising Support – Assists students in small fundraisers.
- Grant Writer – Researches and applies for grants.
- Treasurer – Tracks funds and ensures transparency.
C. Conferences & Workshops
- Outreach Events Coordinator – Organizes community events. Entrepreneurship
- Workshop Support – Assists in workshops and summits.
- Speaker Outreach Lead – Recruits guest speakers.
- Youth Social Event Coordinator – Plans social/spiritual activities.
D. Coaches & Mentors
- Coaches Recruiter – Finds professional coaches.
- Mentors Recruiter – Recruits career mentors.
- Startup Mentor Lead – Connects students with entrepreneurs.
- Mentor Support Coordinator – Ensures consistency in engagement.
E. Internships & Career Development
- Internship Outreach Lead – Builds business partnerships.
- Student Prep Coordinator – Runs resume and interview workshops.
- Internship Liaison – Tracks placements and gathers feedback.
- Company Visits Coordinator – Organizes business site visits, startup tours, and career day experiences.
3. Cross-Committee Roles
- Competition Chaperones: Rotate among parents for travel to BPA competitions and conferences. Responsible for student safety during trips.
- Religious Coordinator: Ensures Islamic values are integrated into programming. Plans spiritually uplifting elements (duas, Ramadan activities).
