    FALL COURSE DETAILS

    QRN101: Ulum-ul-Quran
    This course will give students the ability to explain different subjects as they pertain to the Sciences of the Qur’an. Students will study the revelation, authenticity, preservation, and miraculous nature of the Qur’an.


    FIQ101: Introduction to Fiqh of Taharah and Salah
    The students will cover a primer manual that presents the essentials of the Hanafi School of Law. This course aims to ensure that students learn the fundamentals of taharah (ritual purity) and Salah which students will use for the rest of their lives.

     

    SPRING COURSE DETAILS 

    AQD101: Dismantling Doubts & Building Faith
    Students cover the foundational beliefs of Islam.Through in-depth study, students gain a comprehensive understanding of Islamic creed, reinforcing their faith and guiding their practice of Islam.


    TFS101: Tafseer of the Last 10 Surahs
    Students undergo a detailed exploration of the meanings and context of the last 10 surahs of the Quran, gaining profound insights into their spiritual themes and practical guidance, thereby enhancing their overall comprehension of the Quran.

     

    EXPECTED WORK OUTSIDE THE CLASSROOM
    We at Nueces Seminary completely understand that you are all students with busy classes and other extracurricular activities, so we have minimized the homework to only what is essential. Expect AT MOST 30 minutes of homework a week – if you find yourself spending more time than this please contact one of the Instructors or Admin.

     

    COURSE FORMAT
    This course is scheduled to be delivered in an in-person format. Classes can be recorded only in extenuating circumstances. Class recordings are a backup and are not a substitute for active class participation.

    Occasionally (but not very often), there may pre-recorded lecture content and class time will be used for application and practice. These videos will be posted on Google Classroom. The syllabus is subject to change – we made need more time for a topic and/or external conditions (extreme weather, quarantine) might influence the schedule.


    GUEST LECTURES
    Nueces Seminary may have private sessions with Guest Speakers that are speaking at Nueces Halaqas. This will usually be 30 minutes before the scheduled halaqah at Nueces in the upstairs classroom. 


    CLASSROOM PARTICIPATION & ATTENDANCE
    You are expected to participate in the course discussion by answering questions, asking questions, raising issues, and making observations. The course is set up that if you actively take notes and participate, there is no need for outside homework.
