APPLICATION REQUIREMENTS:
The Building Bright Futures Scholarship is open to any current high school student who fits the following criteria:
Eligibility Criteria
- Academic Status: Must be a current high school senior
- GPA Requirement: Minimum 2.7 on a 4.0 scale
- Community Involvement: Demonstrated commitment to community service, leadership, or extracurricular activities
- Residency: Must be a Russell County/Lee County/Muscogee County resident
- Accepted and admitted into a higher education institution.
RESIDENCY REQUIREMENTS:
Proof of attendance in a high school located in Russell County/Lee County/Muscogee County.
HIGHER EDUCATION INSTITUTION (HEI):
Proof of acceptance and admission into one of the following HEI will be required:
• University or College (public or private)
• Community College
• Vocational School
• Technical or Polytechnical School
ESSAY:
A 500-words or less essay must accompany the application form. The essay must be typed in APA format, 12-point font, and double-spaced. Handwritten essays are permissible by special request and approval.
Essay Topic:
In 500 words or less, discuss how you plan to use education as a tool to build a brighter future for yourself and those around you. Reflect on the role of encouragement, motivation, and foundational skills in shaping your academic and personal success thus far. How have these influences prepared you for the journey ahead, and how do you intend to pay it forward to benefit others?
