Safety Awareness for Farm Equipment on Roadways

Key Dates
·       Contest begins: March 1

·       Submission deadline: Oct. 31

·       Judging period: Nov. 1 - 15

·       Awards ceremony: 2025 VFBF Annual Convention, Williamsburg

Contest Categories
1.)   Best Campaign Using a Display*: Effective campaign that educates drivers about the presence and safety of farm equipment on roadways using a display simulating the space needed by large farm equipment and/or the risks associated with slow moving equipment.

2.)   Best Campaign without Display*: Effective campaign that educates drivers about the presence and safety of farm equipment on roadways but do not use a display.

3.)   Best Media Campaign**: Most effective use of media channels and platforms to educate drivers in rural areas about the presence and safety of farm equipment on roadways.

*Entries will be placed in either Category 1 or 2 based on inclusion of a large display.

**All entries will be eligible for Category 3.

Scoring Rubric
·       Impact (60 points): Potential to reduce accidents.

·       Collaboration with community (20 points): Engagement with community groups to promote and execute campaign.

·       Collaboration with Farm Bureau (20 points): Use of County, Virginia and American Farm Bureau resources.

Award Categories and Prizes
·       Category 1 Winners: 1st - $4,000; 2nd - $2,000; 3rd - $1,000

·       Category 2 Winners: 1st - $2,000; 2nd - $1,000; 3rd - $500

·       Category 3 Winners: 1st- $2,000; 2nd - $1,000; 3rd - $500
