Founded in 1986, the organization serves individuals, families, veterans, and seniors in need of safe, decent, and affordable housing through its homeownership program and neighborhood revitalization efforts in Palm Beach County.

Role Description
This is an unpaid summer internship role located in Riviera Beach/Greenacres with remote work possible (applicants must be willing to travel throughout Palm Beach County). As a Marketing and Communications Summer Intern at Habitat for Humanity GPBC, you will support the organization's mission to provide safe and affordable housing through strategic communication and marketing efforts. You will work closely with the marketing and communications team to enhance public awareness, engage with supporters, and promote various initiatives and campaigns.
This is a hybrid unpaid position, that is mostly remote with some requirement to travel to different Habitat sites in Palm Beach County to capture content. You will need your own transportation.
Key Responsibilities May Include:
- Assist in creating compelling and engaging content for social media, newsletters, blog posts, and other digital platforms
- Monitor Social Media engagement and respond to comments or inquiries in a timely manner
- Help maintain and update media contact lists
- Help maintain, organize, and update digital library
- Track, organize and archive media mentions and coverage related to Habitat’s activities
- Track and submit Habitat event listings on community calendars
- Review monthly media reports and prepare a summary
- Research local award ceremonies and nomination opportunities, manage a calendar and reminders for deadlines
- Support event promotion efforts, including online advertising and community outreach
- Help track and analyze campaign performance through data collection and reporting
- Assist in reviewing and proofreading materials for accuracy and alignment with Habitat for Humanity’s mission
Qualifications:
- Currently pursuing a degree in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, or a related field
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Proficiency in social media platforms and content management tools.
- Proficient in Office 365 suite
- Familiarity with design software is a plus.
- Ability to work collaboratively and manage multiple tasks
- Ability to capture compelling photographs and videos
- Passion for Habitat for Humanity’s mission and community service.
- Must have access to a computer and internet
- Must own a smart phone with good quality camera (for high resolution photos and videos).
- Professional camera is a plus.
Requirements
Applicants must be 18 years of age or older, have their own transportation and be willing to commit to the full 8 weeks of the internship (June 2, 2025 - July 31, 2025). Applicants must pass a criminal background check and drug screening upon selection to the internship program.
