Description of Research Activity that Will Be Supported with This Award
The John Sullivan Award is intended to support PhD candidates doing research in the general area of nanotechnology, nanoscience, or related fields and is to be used to enhance their graduate school experience. Funds are awarded on a competitive basis to enable students to attend and present their research at scientific conferences, to defray publication fees for their research, and to attend training workshops related to their research. The John Sullivan Award has been a continuous feature of the Albany Nanotechnology graduate programs and is now part of the College of Nanotechnology, Science, and Engineering (CNSE) and is open to all CNSE PhD students. Awards are typically between $500 and $4000. A student is eligible to receive a maximum of one award during an academic year (August through July). NOTE: The student is eligible to use the approved award only for the expenses specified in their original application. Unused funds cannot be redirected toward other activities or expenses. If the student wishes to request funding for additional expenses, a new application must be submitted for consideration
